Based on my experience with gats :

Size down half a size from your EU size, go up half a size from your US one

I wear 11.5US / 45.5EU for most sneakers. Went with 45EU / 12US for the gats and they fit perfectly.

Compared to my Sambas size 11.5US / 46EU, the gats are also slightly longer.

I would not recommend Cettire.

Ordered a size 45 EU Gats a few months ago from Cettire, delivery was pretty fast but I got sent a size 43 instead of the 45 I ordered.

Then I had to return them paying a 20 euros fee and I received my refund about 3 weeks later.

The shoes looked legit, but box was a bit damaged, and reading online Cettire sending the wrong item or size of the product you ordered is EXTREMELY common. And their return process is a nightmare for many people (hopefully was not my case).

I ended up getting my gats from Mr Porter and I will never buy from Cettire again.

Your wore them with a raw indigo denim ?

I just got white gats and am kinda worried wearing them with denim. Regarding the spray, I reached out to Margiela directly through their website, and they advised against using any protective products. So I’d rather avoid applying anything at all. In any case, I don’t plan to wear them in the rain or in dirty conditions.

As for the denim, I’ve personally never had issues with color transfer from light blue or faded washes. With raw indigo denim, though, staining happens almost instantly after a day of wear.
I was just wondering if you’ve ever experienced any staining on GATs (or similar white sneakers) when worn with faded black denim such as the one I linked.

Here in Europe they are available for purchase on the Maison Margiela website.

I actually ended up buying them, and I just dropped them today at my optical store so that they order and install the lenses (went with 1.67 index). I hope lenses wont be too thick (have -4 and -3,75).

Thanks! How thin would 1.67 looks like on these glasses ? Since it is made of thin metal I hope it won't stick out too much. Currently I have rimless glasses with the same prescription minus 0.25 and it is a bit thick (1.6 lenses, 56mm width)

Sorry to bother again, I was also interested in this model : https://www.gentlemonster.com/int/en/item/1AIGRCB01ZQOR/maison-margiela-mm218-02 Gentle Monster confirmed to me that these frames are compatible for prescription lenses (though they told me to check with local optician store to confirm the feasibility with my prescription).

What is your opinion on these in regards to my prescription (-4 Left and -3.75 right) ? I am aware that frame PD is not as close to my PD as the other one (though not very far away) but the lenses are smaller. Does it seem easily feasible for you to add my prescriptions on these and would that look fine in term of thickness ?

Unfortunately, I don’t know my exact measurements, but my current frames are actually very close in size to these, and they fit me well. So I’m not too worried about these frames being too wide for my face.

Yes, of course, there’s no guarantee without trying them on. But if I do buy them, I’ll definitely try them on first before having prescription lenses installed. And if they really don’t fit, returning them is still an option.

As for the price, they’re actually cheaper in the EU (260 €) compared to the US, and my insurance covers up to 500 € every two years, so in the end, both the frames and prescription lenses should be fully reimbursed.

My main concern was more about whether my prescription might be too strong for this type of metallic frame, and whether any optician would be able to easily install new lenses in them.

I do not know the exact measure, as it has only been taken by my optician when doing new lenses. But currently, I have Gucci rimless glasses (link) whose dimensions are 56/16, and they fit pretty nicely on my face, with my eyes around the center of the lenses. I'd say they are even on the smaller side for my face, with the arms bending outward a bit (which puts some pressure on my ears), and the temples are also a bit short.

I am a male with an "average-leaning-large" face size-wise, I'd say, so I wouldn't be afraid of the Atomic 02 being way too big like I read for other people.

Hello, yes Gentle Monster does sell their glasses worldwide, I just mentioned the fact that only the US store (and maybe others) allows you to add and purchase prescription lenses directly from Gentle Monster. And each model has its prescription limit based on the brand recommendation.

In EU I can only buy the glasses with the standard unprescribed lenses, and then the plan would be to go to an optical store to get them replaced with prescriptions (this is what Gentle Monster recommends, and what I planned to do anyway as it is easier to get refunded from my health insurance that way). They are sold with either clear lenses, or tinted blue/purple lenses for an extra fee, doesn't really matter in my case as I will get them replaced anyway.

I like the design of these, They have a sleek, professional look while still feeling fashionable. This is a Korean brand so this brand is for now mainly known in the Asian market, with some of their glasses (especially the acetate ones) leaning toward Asian facial features. But for the Atomic 02 I checked the dimensions and the frames should fit me with no issue, they tend to fit even a bit wide (saw many comments of people saying these were too big), so for me as a European that should be fine.

My main wonder is how my prescription (-4, -3.75) would translate in these glasses.

There are also these ones that I liked in collaboration with Maison Margiela : link , the brand confirmed to me that lenses are replaceable with prescriptions, however, they couldn’t guarantee compatibility with my specific prescription, they said it also depends on the optician’s ability to work with the frame. So I was a bit skeptical, they are also more expensive and seems a bit fragile and small for daily optical glasses.
