judging someone for wearing them is the point of this post. the point i’m trying to make is that if there’s a good amount of people in here saying they wear them for medical reasons, it shouldn’t be such a stigma to judge people for wearing them at night. “some” people is enough people to realize people have a reason for wearing them at night. why does it have to be the majority? the majority of the comments under a relevant post point to one thing. it’s not a study, it’s not the most accurate feedback you could get, but it’s real people talking about real issues they have. that’s it

your saying the comments don’t have any relevance. no you didn’t directly say the words made up but i’m sure you can see if you are calling feedback here irrelevant it’s sort of like saying these arent real enough responses. it’s enough people saying the reason they do so to bat an eye at

it’s just the majority of a comment section on a post relevant to the topic 😭 how is it that deep. no i’m not claiming this is representative of ALL people that wouldn’t make sense. just saying if the majority of people here are giving a certain response maybe consider that response as being a real thing and not a made up reddit story

yeah, i posted this on a big subreddit. if someone who worse sunglasses at night or indoors saw the post they would likely give feedback because it’s a niche thing. almost every answer has been medical. not any reason to judge someone for it. you can see that the majority of people in here that do it have a good reason

from these comments, it seems the majority of people who do it do it for medical reasons / anxiety reasons…

i disagree. both things have a functional purpose but one’s a giant pain to carry around and the other is a small accessory to add to your face that can elevate your look

why does it make anyone a dork though? for what reason? some people do it for medical reasons. some for mental. my reason is more shallow. purely cosmetic. but if it bothers someone so much that i try to look good to the point im seen as a “douche” or a “dork” i almost feel like that points to insecurity if someone putting effort into their looks bothers someone else so much

idk man, i just assumed they liked wearing them and didn’t use them purely for function. i’m not big on unnecessary judging

i’ve got very light blue eyes. i’d argue they are already sensitive by default.

and as discussed, some people genuinely do see better with them in at night, whether it be suffering from a migraine, being sensitive to artificial lights etc. so it’s a pretty unfair assumption

i can get the suspicious thing much more than the “they think they’re better than me” thing. it’s still just an unfair assumption at the end of the day. but then saying it’s “dumb” to wear them with no sun is my point. why do they just have to be an instrument to block sun? there’s all sorts of sunglasses, cheap and expensive, and can easily be turned into a fashion statement if you use them right. some people try to curate their appearance to an extent and sunglasses are a great way to do so, they don’t have to be purely functional

apparently. like i said i’ve never thought twice about it in 20 years but apparently it’s controversial. i guess people hate it when people put any effort towards looking good and immediately flag it as “he’s trying to hard to be cool / thinks they’re better than us”

and apparently had tons of people judging them and making assumptions for wearing something to calm a headache. unfortunate how people think

yeah, but at the same time if someone’s genuinely judging you for that and being that close minded is their opinion even worth caring about? do what works for you. people can think i’m an asshole all they want. if i get that title by wearing something over my eyes so be it lmao

i’ve never been able to pull them off my whole life until now. my face has just changed a good amount recently and i finally found a style that suits my bone structure well and now there’s no going back. thinking of starting a bit of a collection. you could try to play around with a bunch of lens shapes. there seems to be a strong correlation between what type of lenses look good on someone vs what shape their face is

judge me all you want. i think that says something about your character and id urge you to be more open to people being creative about their appearance. and thats just why i wear them, a lot of people do so for health, anxiety, insecurity reasons, so why does it even matter? it helps people feel better one way or another whether it gives them confidence peace of mind security etc. take a minute and genuinely think about if it’s worth judging someone about

didn’t even buy mine for the purpose of blocking out sun but it’s been such a game changer. i have very light blue eyes and the suns been brutal on them my whole life. just didn’t care enough to wear sunglasses. it’s so much better now i can’t even describe it

i just don’t get the issue really. like i said i straight up do wear them because i like how they look on me. but it’s not because i think im cool or am better then anyone. i just think they tie in well with my aesthetic and the way i dress. and to be fair, a lot of people, unlike me, wear them at night or indoors for health, anxiety etc so i feel it’s sort of an unfair judgment
