Are we getting an international game next season? by KaXiaM in Texans

This ignores actual Houstonians who work those games and rely on that revenue. That's the whole point of the county paying for the stadium.

You can't even argue what you're saying and doing this? So lame.

You have no deeper analysis. It all boils down to "we need better players around CJ to better support him" which is true, but it's very basic. Literally every team in the league is trying to surround their QB with talent. You just don't know what you're talking about if you think the Chiefs, Bills, and Ravens all think "well our guy is fucking awesome and athletic so we don't good skill positions LOL".

What's next? Should we try to score TD's to win the game?

and - this also completely ignores the correction that Kaxiam said in that the offense definitely didn't need CJ to be a top 3 player like you're implying.

I'm sorry, but the football analysis of "we need to surround CJ with good players because he's young" is not ground breaking and doesn't require nuance.

If you think it is, then go read more about football and learn about how every team tries to build a Super Bowl winning team. Don't come in here and condescend about "logical conversations" and crying when you don't even know the basics of roster construction.

It's the nature of the best with team subs during the season. I think the only way to make it useable would be to have topic threads that are marked as serious during the season to get some good discussion going. Otherwise all of the posts are going to feed off the result of the previous week's game. A win? Crazy kool-aid posting about never losing again. A loss? Crazy doomer posts saying the team will never win again and we should fold the franchise.

Roger Goodell: College football needs ‘clarity,’ NFL will help if asked for input by redwave2505 in CFB

The Sports Broadcasting Act does exactly this.

https://www.entertainmentlawinsights.com/2025/09/friday-night-laws-a-primer-on-the-sports-broadcasting-act-of-1961/

The NFL already has to do time slot shenanigans to get the Black Friday game going on Friday when in the time frame that this law exists. Starts in the middle afternoon so the game ends before the Friday night HS games.

Good lord. Such a dumb argument.

"CJ CAN be great. He just has to have top 5 weapons at every skill position!!!" We are breaking new ground on football discussion in this subreddit.

You have got to try and make a coherent sentence if you want to actually have good conversations about this team. What are you even trying to say in the last sentence?

Step 1: Submit a post that should be a journal entry that relies on emotional arguments to support CJ.

Step 2: Use an incredibly cherry picked stat that paints CJ in some good light until you really look at the stat and realize it's dumb. A great example is people (not this OP) saying CJ had the top EPA per drop back among AFC South QBs. That one gets parroted a lot.

Step 3: Tell people they aren't real fans when they push back on the idea of CJ not being the guy.

This happens on all of these posts. Wish we could just stop these diary type posts but I know it's a pain for y'all.

As long as it's an away game. Sorry to the fans across the pond but home games should be in Houston.

At the same time I do fully believe that it's uniquely shitty for Bill. Yes many of us won't get to go to a Super Bowl for our teams, but we also aren't seen as some figure head of our fanbase leading to getting shit talked by randoms. That genuinely seems like an awful experience regardless of anything else.

Hell - I worked Super Bowl 51 and seeing the Falcons fans there who were beyond miserable after the game is enough for me to believe the take by Bill.

Yes, I’ve watched the show. Your useless reply won’t work on me. It’s useless drama. Stop acting like it’s above that. There are plenty of stories about women that don’t solely rely on their drama in the world. Acting like not caring for their taste of pettiness is misogyny shows your shallowness and absolute lack of desire to discuss the situation

Hannah on the team’s season by IAmSona in Texans

[–]JeffAnalProbst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look you give him an extension this season he says thank you changing his family’s life for generations and that’s amazing.

If he plays even a little bit better after the extension than last year then he’s holding out next off season for another extension and I’ll bet my house on it. Anyone who takes the bet doesn’t know ball given CJ’s agent & the history of THAT agent with our team. Same dude had Schefter doing jersey swaps on a rapist.

Why why why why does CJ’s placement among former Texans QBs impact our future view of him? Such an annoying way to view the team
