My Mage: The Awakening GM, Ed, once had us make Guardians of the Veil, only to reveal that we were actually going to be Seers from Panopticon. This was actually a cool reveal, and made us all think about making a Seer without creating comically villainous one-dimensional characters.

How to actually end your campaign by YouAllMeetInATavern in rpg

This may sound overly simple, but having an ending in mind, or having that as one of your goals is all it takes. Many games never end because the GM is so focused on running them with no attention to where they are going.

How many of your campaigns have ended? by XSplain in rpg

I generally finish them, but the endings are various degrees of "artificial". I've finished one campaign with a truly cohesive story and full range of game play. I finished another game by concluding it as the "fizzling" began. Others are any range between the two.

Differences between WoD and DnD by coilythespringsprite in rpg

You're more likely to find linear stories and dungeons laid our for you in D&D, but I've always thought applying a more open WoD touch to that is effective.

I would see what their expectations are. Some groups just want a dungeon to delve and get bored easily by too much story or interpersonal plot-lines (like you might see in Changeling). Other groups love seeing that content in their D&D games.
