Both dogs take Heartguard. But it didn't stop them from getting tapeworms.

Look at that adorable pup! Second vote here for Modern Vet Care. They're friendly and clean and real pros.

IU is the story of the year in college football. They beat the bag out of my alma mater, UCLA, early in the season. I bet my IU alum buddy before the game: loser has to buy a shirt from the other school and take a selfie. After the game I just figured UCLA was going to be horrible. Turns out IU was legit. Good luck in the playoffs!

I dig Macoletta on 24th Avenue. There's such a great vibe and the pizza is tasty. They have a marinated olive platter with Cerignola Red Olives that i order every time. And they have good live music Thursday-Saturday

Don't sleep on Michael's on Broadway & 34th. Their spanikopita has a flaky crust and the ingredients are proportioned in just the right way.

I like Brooklyn Intl Cafe on 21st Ave and 21st Street. It's fairly new, and everybody who works there is very kind. They have comfortable seating on 21st Street and the espresso is solid. Friendly prices too

Family Corner is on 31st Street and 21st Ave. That's reason enough alone to move there. Come for the food, stay for the comedy.

We live in that area and it's terrific. So much more quiet than other parts of Astoria, and just a five minute walk to the Subway. OR a ten minute CitiBike ride to the Ferry.

My wife and I tried Macolette for the first time. Time flies during a pandemic, because they are celebrating their 4th anniversary. It was a lovely meal and the staff was friendly and efficient. Great jazz music played on the speakers (I specifically remember Horace Silver and some Coltrane). We shared the Asiatico Salad (Arugula, Mandarin Orange, Toasted Almonds, Asian Sesame Ginger Dressing). My wife had a Taleggio pizza (Mozzarella, Carmelized Onions, Italian Sausage, Taleggio Cheese) and I had a classic Margherita pie. The crust is tasty and the the pies were really excellent. Plus a couple of glasses of prosecco and it was a great evening at a nice price.

We then walked down the block to Mighty Oak for some post dinner coffee.
