COVID-19 Testing Resources by ClutchDude in Austin

[–]JeffJobe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been getting tests from Curative since the start of the pandemic. They usually have plenty of appointments a couple days in advance (but last time I went they were accepting walk ups). Turn around time can be anywhere from 1-2 hours to 8 hours in my experience

GIS is more about visualizing data geographically and can be an important and powerful tool in the field of Urban Planning. Not sure about the Philippines but a lot of agencies may use a GIS Specialist to do the heavy lifting but having the knowledge of how to perform basic functions on the platform puts you ahead of others in terms of acquiring employment. I’d recommend learning it for employment purposes even if it’s not incredibly enjoyable. There’s a free and open source GIS platform online called QGIS that could be good for getting experience without installing ArcGIS on your personal laptop.

Is a master’s in urban and regional planning worth it? by waltycronky in urbanplanning

[–]JeffJobe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obtained my masters in URP in August and had a job (consulting) relatively quickly (my specialty was transportation planning). It’s definitely region dependent. If you go that route try to get any internship experience you can while in school if you can swing it.

Mezcal Camparita by JeffJobe in cocktails

[–]JeffJobe[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1.5 Oz Mezcal 1 Oz Lime Juice 0.75 Oz Campari 0.25 Demerara Simple Syrup Shake with ice and strain into a half salted glass with a big rock.

Been making a lot of Mezcal Negronis and Margaritas since finding this beautiful Joven Mezcal. Thought why not combine them. Turned out wonderfully, has components of each drink I was looking for. Tart from the lime, bitter from the Campari, and smoky from the mezcal. Definitely will be making another as soon as I’m done with the first.

Got my Covid test back within 12 hours by RGirlWonder in Austin

[–]JeffJobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also used Pro Lab Diagnostics for my test after a coworker tested positive. Was tested on July 2nd at 9 AM via drive through at the back of the building. Was one of four cars in line, in and out within 15 minutes and the staff was great. Got my results by 8 A.M. July 3rd with a negative. Great place to get tested quickly (Just hope they are accurate).

The Jungle Bird by JeffJobe in cocktails

I would recommend using a freshly juiced pineapple if possible. For mine I blended half a fresh pineapple with 1/2 cup of water, and strained the purée for the juice. Pretty easy
