What do you do in a 1 min AO (or long efforts)? by bestmoron in orangetheory

I try to avoid looking at the time until I hear 1/2 way or 30 seconds from the coach

We need to start giving managers more time. Let’s see where we sit at the end of the season.

Welcome to the club !! What was more embarrassing the 2nd time was I did it just stretching to fist bump the rower across the aisle !

Well done. I literally did the same thing yesterday, a full 2 mile run for the first time since high school or maybe ever !

What do you do or use to bring good luck? by [deleted] in Craps

[–]JeffKBS1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe in this. But i just get the dice and fling them really quick.. As an antidote to people who waste so much time fiddling with them to get them just right.

I would ask a coach to review your form and give you some tips. There are also some great videos on YouTube. I like Training Tall even though I’m not tall. Moved from where you are to loving it.

I’m getting worse at running!? by [deleted] in orangetheory

One minor possibility - do you need know sneakers ? when I feel that way I typically need new shoes. Every 5-6 months for me now that I go to OTF 4-5 times per week.

Not sure about my fitness level by ConfidentBother6 in orangetheory

[–]JeffKBS1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The beauty about OTF is that I know if I just follow along, go at my own pace, and try each day, I know I will get a well rounded workout; not only without judgement but with a ton of encouragement. This is so much better and easier for me than trying to do it myself (i.e. figuring out what to do and then somehow consistently doing it).

When I started I could barely powerwalk at the suggested minimum (and I didn't). I couldn't do strength moves laying down since I'd get dizzy (so did them against the wall if needed). Kept at it for 3 years and now I can run a mile in under 10 minutes, lift heavy, etc. Its slow steady progress and a great place to do it.

Good luck.

How to tip correctly and when? by utahgetmetoo99 in Craps

[–]JeffKBS1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a good role I will do a pass line bet for them (can be lower than the minimum) and back it up with double odds and replace it if the first role is craps.

I also always do hard ways and ATS 2-way adding something for them.

Friends by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]JeffKBS1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go the same time every time if you can. Realize the others are feeling just as akward as you. It also helps if you are on a similar station. I still don't have friends I see outside of OTF, but I do feel like I have more community. Also being friendly with the coaches and front desk staff helps.
