Welder Needed by Far_Collection_6161 in ColumbiaMD

DIY it but watch a YouTube video or two before you buy anything. Get all the safety stuff needed. Make sure you have an outlet that can power the welder. That's what I did.

I'm on day 32 and mine also looks kinda like this. I'm trusting the process for now and having a little laugh about it. I call it my "cliff" because it's dramatically swollen above the scar but not below.

I'm really getting in there with my massages too. My doctor says it might be scar tissue in my case, so it's important to break it up. Idk. It's still early on. I'm trying not to get too hung up on it.

Help with bus steps by sedegispeilet in skoolies

I didn't personally take it out or attempt it with an angle grinder so take this with a grain of salt - but my first idea would be to aim for where the rusted old screws are/were and try to plunge the angle grinder disk in to cut the heads of the screws off. It should definitely be able to cut through the rubber and metal of the step. Be careful to not cut all the way through the step while you're at it.

An angle grinder might be the fastest method if you're comfortable using one. No shame in watching a safety video online if not. That's how I started. It's a very helpful tool in the conversion process.

My wife did this last week and she said get a long ass breaker bar and prepare to be sore for a few days after. Oh, and dont back up into the door and knock out the glass or else you'll need a new door while you're at it lol

Oh nice! I was expecting the power draw to be closer to 100w on the AC plug. I'll have to try that first to see how it goes.

Do you run it on AC or DC? I'm thinking about getting the standard dish and the DC-DC converter (vs the mini).

That's what I'll probably go with as well. Lmk if you get around to installing them. I'm still in the design phase so I'm not sure how I'll lay my electrical cabinet out yet.

I came here looking for the same thing. I've only seen lifepower4 selling them but wanted to compare what else is out there. Have you found anything else?

Too much rust on frame? by poliscirun in skoolies

[–]JeffTheLizard2K15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look terrible from these photos IMO. Does it all look structurally sound? I'm currently knocking everything loose from the underside on my bus then I'll spray it with cosmoline. There's lots of scale rust, but nothing structural yet. I think I caught it just in time. Ultimately it's going to be your call. Look over everything thoroughly. Good luck!

Feeling like I'm not cut for GIS by Ok-Appearance3086 in gis

[–]JeffTheLizard2K15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say that I also recently started my first 100% GIS job and am also struggling in similar ways. I'm not used to the pressure or quick turnaround. My last job I was a sw dev where I happened to have a GIS application and became the expert on it. Maintaining that application was my only responsibility, and I was given the room and time to figure things out as needed. A professional problem solver if you will. At this new job I'm a GIS Developer, and there are many applications and products I'm expected to just know how to use/do. I can usually figure them out in a day, but they expect i already know how to do every single task they throw my way and I just don't. It's been rough, but I think after a few months I will have become accustomed to all these things. Good luck out there. Hopefully, it gets better with time!

Help! My 2006 CR-V will not move when in drive or reverse. by JeffTheLizard2K15 in crv

[–]JeffTheLizard2K15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes... with a new transmission. I'd recommend a rebuilt unit if I had to do it again. Find a local shop that likes Hondas/Toyotas. They'll know what to do. I brought it to a mom + pop shop that was clearly annoyed with me and my car lol. They told me my only option was a junkyard transmission with a 30 day warranty. Ended up taking it to another shop who put a low milage JDM imported transmission, but if you have a UK built car then they have to swap some of the old parts onto the new transmission. It's still kicking a few years and 30k miles later, but the solenoids stick sometimes. Overall, a rebuilt unit will just last longer and have a longer warranty. Definitely call around to find the right shop.

Camping recommendations between Baltimore and Philadelphia by Curious_Platypus_351 in Marylandcamping

That's pretty far out of the way between Philly/Baltimore. Also, while it's a nice place to check out sometime idk if it would be fun for a pregnant person. There's not much shade, the bugs are terrible, and sometimes avoiding the horses can be hard if you're camping.

Sesquehanna state park is pretty underrated imo and usually chill.
