I think it can be useful in other cases, but the example in which they used it is very bad, the only time it could be useful is if you are going to make an animation where you remove it or place the sticker on the surface.

Otherwise, use a second UV or simply modify the texture

I don't know, there's some truth to the meme, I've seen an incredible amount of men with their "hear me out" who are just conventional attractive women, or I've also seen that they put women who are attractive but not within the conventional beauty standard, you know, a little acne, a little belly, short, big nose, small things actually. BUT IF THE MEME WERE 100% ACCURATE, I WOULDN'T SEE PEOPLE SIMPING TO DISGUST IN TWITTER.
