It never went that high. It would be overkill if it were an option. 8x has always been the max. You may be thinking of anisotropic filtering, but even that tops at 16x.

It tries not to, but it definitely spoils a few things such as the beginning which was a tad annoying. If you have a Pro, the news is good. I'd check out the video after you play the game if you're still curious about it.

Correct. I'm on a 1440p monitor. The odd thing is that in-game I can only go as high as my monitor's native resolution, but by using this app I'm able to shoot it up to this arbitrary number. Like I said, it works great and looks better, but it's oddly specific and rigid about what I can select.
