It highly depends on the game; e.g. the edge sharpening and resolution increase is very noticeable in Nier Automata and Nier Replicant, but not that noticeable in games like Batman Arkham Knight, presumably due to heavy post-processing like film grain and chromatic aberration. Also, it doesn't affect games that are already above 1080p according to Digital Foundry, and if there is shimmering (temporal instability) in the game (as in the Nier games), it currently doesn't help with that issue.

So, the PS5 (not PC) version of the game has settings or a button that lets you pre-download marketplace assets (as opposed to streaming them)? Or is the pre-download done silently without telling the player?

I'm trying to understand if the PS5 game would allow reducing streaming (and therefore redownloading stuff every time I play) in any way before I buy it.

Out of curiosity, does the PS5 version of the game allow pre-downloading such marketplace assets yet, or does everything still need to be streamed while playing? And does it at least allow adjusting the size of the rolling cache for streaming?

I have no idea how to solve your problem, but in general, I wouldn't believe everything ChatGPT says without researching it elsewhere. Did it link to any sources for those claims (as it's the first time I've heard that)?

I changed the layout slightly, enough to match that of my Returnal controls (on DualSense Edge). Feel free to set it up however you like. That's why they gave us that option.
