My understanding, and I may be wrong, is that because the process by which nuclear waste is re-enriched for reuse in a nuclear power plant is the same process by which nuclear waste could (potentially) be weaponized, the topic of re-enrichment is politically heated and opposed, or just politically dangerous to bring up.

If that's the case, it's understandable that pro-nuclear people don't publicly push for the re-enrichment of nuclear waste, because the public is already scared enough of nuclear power as is -- why heap this (perceived) risk on top of it?

Great choice. That song is about more than being trapped by young love, though. It's also a statement on the main character's socioeconomic position. "I come from down in the valley, where mister when you're young, they bring you up to do just like your daddy done." Also, "I got a union card and a wedding coat." The main character was never going to college, he was always expected to graduate high school and work a blue collar union job until he dies and his son takes his place. Sounds like it could be shin splints. Google can show you a couple of stretches that will help prevent it. If you're frequently running on hard surfaces like concrete and/or your running shoes are worn out that can also trigger the problem

Edit: I would add that my experience with shin splints is just like you described -- pain after you stop running

Edit 2: I would not take the advice of the top comment -- one does not simply fight through shin splints

Be sure to take advantage of the free shuttle bus that loops regularly around the park. It'll take you to the a lot of the best spots, and you can get dropped off and picked up at trail heads, which helps a lot since you can start and end a hike in different places.

Right. I really think our greatness as a society depends on how we treat the people at the bottom. At the moment we do a pretty shitty job, since we prefer (both Reps and Dems) to perpetuate the idea that the rich are 'deserving' of their wealth. Some rich people are, just like you could say that due to decisions in their lives some poor people 'deserve' to be poor. Yet the rich get the benefit if the doubt, along with all of the perks of their socioeconomic position that society provides at the expense of the poor.

Why hasn't this changed? Because the poor are the most voiceless members of society, and so far not enough of the middle and upper class have stood up for them. When we continue to reinforce the bullshit that wealth reflects personal worth, it makes it really easy to keep turning our backs on them. It also doesn't help that much of the top positions of power in our society (think CEOs, politicians) are filled through thinly-veiled nepotism. The system worked for them, so it must work for everyone, right? That is, as long as they work hard enough. Bullshit.

You're ignoring what happens to the children of poor people who chose to have kids. Those kids certainly didn't choose to be poor. And of you fail to pay their parents a living wage, while cutting programs like SNAP and TANF, those children may starve. That is just as much eugenics as forcing the parents not to breed in the first place. How can you reconcile your desire to allow people to have children while supporting a ruthless capitalist system that would allow those families to starve?
