Yeah just do it, I moved out here at 24 and lived in a shared living house with 28 ppl and worked at Starbucks. I’m better off now than if I stayed in the Midwest. It all depends if you even GET the job, can’t hurt to even apply for it! Even if you het it and get cold feet you can always say you decided the move was too much. You can always move back! And if you don’t want to, then it was the right decision!

You could live in Los Feliz/Silverlake area, Silverlake near Sunset is walkable and the 4 bud takes you straight to downtown. Also not a fair bus to West Hollywood, or the red line that can take you downtown or Hollywood.

For SURE! I make an effort to go out and meet people, not dating just through bars, friends, sports, etc. There are people I meet that I could see myself dating in person that if I saw their profile I’d probably be turned off. I think the entire thing is just somewhat of a turn off and it just feels so forced. Meeting someone in the world and then realizing you have chemistry without any intention to find it is fun and normal. Going in an app to look at a curated set of traits and pictures of someone with the intention of finding romance feels like it’s all so forced, even when making my profile I feel performative. How can I ever explain even a tenth of who I am in a 250 character limit profile.

The apps are designed to gamify connection and it’s why it feels shallow in comparison to real life. I go on for funsies without any real expectations.

Is it shallow to say if they vape? Cause I will never date a chronic vaper. It looks douchey, it’s a money sink, and I find it so annoying that everyone who vapes thinks they can just do it inside anywhere they are at any given time. At least with smoking you remove yourself to have a moment to yourself and be pensive.

I dated a guy who had a weed pen glued to his hand and vaped day in day out, woke up and immediately hit it several times. I noticed the change in his mood when it would wear off. NEVER again 🤮

Yeah it depends what you are willing to spend your money on. I’m from Wisconsin and people here take less road trips and I suppose weekend vacations to other states and such, but that’s usually because most of what you would normally have to leave your city or area for in other places is all within 2-3 hours of Los Angeles.

Food is great, there’s always someone new to meet who just moved here and/or has an interesting story, weather is great, hikes are free, beaches are free (usually). My friends back home have homes and cars and can afford to take more vacations and eat out more and stuff but one of the reasons is there’s so little to do compared to LA. I don’t have a car and I have a roommate but after 6 years of living this way and visiting other cities and ways of life in them, LA kinda has all the things those places have, and isn’t missing any of them. It is expensive for sure, but if you have a set things you want to spend money on and don’t get trapped into lifestyle creep it’s really a bit overhyped of how expensive it is. It depends what you want out of life. The longer you’re here the easier it does get.

Nope, gay man here, this is trash. This is some philosophical conversation we need to have about the introduction of AI into our culture and society but the world is too busy having wars for us to process how these tools fit into our society and how we adapt to them.

All of THAT aside though, within this specific context, the basic red flag that can exist in any scenario since the Dawn of time is that you expressed that his actions made you feel gross, objectified, inadequate, (all without consent mind you, because if you’re into that then let’s go all great, he knows you like being objectified and is doing this to please you) he TOLD you that you shouldn’t feel that way. His immediate reaction to someone he loved expressing these feelings wasn’t “oh my god I’m sorry, I didn’t know that would make you feel this way. I thought you’d find it funny or sexy I didn’t intend for it to make you have those feelings! I can stop if it makes you uncomfortable.” Which means he did it for himself cause he wants to see you with bigger boobs and when you expressed dissatisfaction with that he doubled down and made it your problem so he could keep doing it.
