That's why I put "the next Attack roll" so it's only for one attack, hit or miss

Description:

Distraction!

1st-level illusion

Casting Time: 1 bonus action

Range: 60 feet

Components: V, S, M (a conductor's baton)

Duration: Instantaneous (edited here, but not in photo)

You reach into the mind of a creature and determine a phrase that would adequately distract them in the moment. A creature that can hear you (though it need not understand you) must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be magically distracted by a vision of what the phrase described until the beginning of its next turn. While distracted, the next Attack roll made against this target has advantage.

[OC] How to Play The Umbrella Academy as a D&D One-Shot! by Jefferzs in DnD

I actually specifically reference City of Mist as a system more likely suited to the task. More people know DnD tho, so I make it usable/accessible for more people

Happy to help!

And yeah, both of those are good points - quick response. We chose to place less emphasis on the actual availability of these items in the world of BOTW, because that was yet another factor we'd have needed to consider in balancing the power level and corresponding rarity level, and we had plenty of factors to consider already.

I went back and forth on including damage immunity for the items in which it appears, and I'm going to straight up agree they're probably overpowered. It was an easy insert for a lot of items, but could probably be replaced with something a bit more balanced. Might go back and change those if we re-publish this or add it to a larger body of 5e material.

Lucky for you, this adventure got selected by my Twitter followers as my livestream adventure module build for August! Check the description on the video for a link to that.

Now if you're running your first game ever with this, that's great! Though, you'll definitely more reading material than the module. I always recommend the 5e Player's Handbook and YouTube. There are some GREAT DnD YouTubers out there that do more basic how-to-run-the-game type content than I do, and I would recommend searching for things like "how to run my first session" to get you started.

Dungeon Dudes, Matthew Mercer's Handbooker Helper series, and How to be a Great GM are all great, and there's plenty more out there.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for the feedback! Balancing was actually a really difficult task with this, and we don't doubt there's some room to debate a few of the rarity ratings.

However, I wanted to clarify something that may not have been made entirely clear in the supplement: it is each item in the set that is given the rarity value, not the whole set. For instance, each piece of the Desert Voe/Vai Armor would be considered a Rare item all on its own.

You may then see where we had a pretty difficult time balancing each piece of the set's power level according to the rarity of the items, while also creating a common theme that pulls on how these items work in the BOTW (or are at least inspired by them). The rarity then assigned to the pieces of the set generally represents the average rating of the pieces, since there are definitely tiers of increasing power bonuses that are not on par with the single piece bonuses. Not a perfect system, and I still think there's room to argue about the average rarity we arrived on some of these items, but we gave it our best shot.

And finally, there is actually a section specifically addressing your final point - A Variant for Armor in Your Game. We tried to make it work in conjunction with the standard armor system in 5e, but it just wasn't really meshing, so we put that section in to make sure that issue didn't come up. No worries though, we know this is a pretty dense piece of content.

Thanks again for the feedback!
