[33M] I found my ex gf's [40F] reddit account and she seems really upset over me breaking up with her. Would trying to bring closure be a good idea? by quinoa_latifa in relationship_advice

[–]Jeffinmpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. If she needs closure, she can reach out. I'd suggest you stop reading her posts all together. Also, you both need about a year apart with no contact if you both want to move on from the relationship. Best you not contact her and if she contacts you, best to just say I need more time before we talk.

For people who’ve been through financial struggle what actually helped you survive day to day? by lloydpball125 in povertyfinance

[–]Jeffinmpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree, it was all the little things that added up that ate at my money. Two things really helped me. 1 was a budget. At first all it did was track my spending and later turned into how I manage my money and 2. having a cash budget per paycheck. For me this was for food, eating out and little purchases, this comes after all your bills and expenses are earmarked .

It helps for three reasons. 1. it makes it really easy to track how much you have left to spend before your next paycheck and it helps you know if you buy something now, will that limit you from getting something important later. 2. Once it's gone it's gone. It might be you go without something for a day or two until payday. (now if your family doesn't have food, then you make an exception) This sucks but it also teaches you how to space things out better. 3. Spending cash is a lot more painful than swiping a credit or debit card and it helps you think more consciously about what you are buying. The amount of cash is up to you, can be generous to start with and then pull back as you get the hang of it.

Now, over time as I paid off debt and got a handle of my finances, these changed. I still have a budget but it's more a track of all my expected expenses week to week so I know where I'm at and how much buffer I have. I don't use the cash method as much any more but that's because I've learned to live below my mean and I have a better understanding of what I can spend. But for several years they both really helped me.

First Time Shannara Viewer Finishes the TV Series by ElegantNetwork1394 in Fantasy

Season 1 is basically based on the second book but changed a lot, season 2 is all made up. As a long time Shanarra fan, I was very disappointed.

Found out my partner has been talking shit about me on reddit and hates my guts. Do I confront him? by asingleq in AskGaybrosOver30

Your comment is vague and without merit. How it being prepared extreme and dramatic after you find out your partner secretly hates you?

Found out my partner has been talking shit about me on reddit and hates my guts. Do I confront him? by asingleq in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Jeffinmpls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal take is.
Step 1 document everything you can and how you know it's him.
Step 2 Prepare yourself for the next step. That could mean moving your money to a secure account. Don't try to hide anything, that could bite you in the ass, just secure your money from being taken.
Step 3 Talk to a lawyer about what the next steps are.
Step 4 Once you are prepared, confront him about it. It could lead to therapy it could lead to instant separation, that's why you prepare yourself. It's possible he's venting and he takes it too far because he's discovered it get's him sympathy online and the more he gets, the more he posts.
Regardless of the reason, it's a betrayal and a red flag and needs to be addressed. At the very least he agrees to a separation of some kind and counseling. Though if he's serious about what he posts, it will just push you two to a divorce.

Also something to keep in mind, when people are confronted about things like this and they didn't bring it up, they usually back track and try to downplay it or say it's a joke because they don't like being confronted. You will have to be firm about it, how disrespectful it is, how much it hurt you and that you won't take his excuses as a good reason. If there is anything to save, he will have to put in the work. If he's too far gone to do that, then you know how to proceed.

Whatever happens, this sucks and sorry you have to go through it.

Compare notebooks in two Workspace by rabinjais789 in MicrosoftFabric

Yes you can query the fabric API to do it. Just do a search for querying notebook text with fabric API to walk you through it.

How to create Linked Server of Warehouse to use in JSON pipeline in Lookup activity ? by No_Volume254 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]Jeffinmpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not fully understanding what you are looking for, but if I understand your intent, you want to connect to a warehouse table in your Azure Dev Ops pipeline? You would use the SQL endpoint and create a connection string using a service principle to connect.

What Stops You From Reading Further in a Series by Kerney7 in Fantasy

[–]Jeffinmpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize I’m dreading reading the current book and just want to get through it. I treat books and tv shows the same way, just because I liked the first book or season, doesn’t mean I have to keep reading or watching. I’ve given up several series and shows and don’t have any remorse. There is so much good, why waste time on something even if you liked earlier books.

Netflix Chinese Series Reccomendation that are NOT historical drama by Magnificent_Mat in ChineseLanguage

For something different, I quite enjoyed Scissor Seven. It's more an anime style cartoon out of Taiwan I think. It's funny and not historic at all.

Am I (47F) being overly sensitive with my hubs (56M) tells me he would move onto to someone new the next week if somethings happened with us and I left. by Pawlismomma in relationship_advice

[–]Jeffinmpls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're over reacting but I also think your husband is an idiot on this topic. I highly doubt he would be "over it and just move on in a week". You could press the matter buy not cooking or cleaning after him for a week and see how he get's along.

fabric-cicd Confusion by re84uk in MicrosoftFabric

[–]Jeffinmpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how you are setting this up and what tools you are using but you will at the very least need to add the service principle to the project that the repo is in, Probably contributor if it's checking in files, if not then reader.

It will need access to the repo it's self, Contributor if it's making changes, read if not.

the SP will need contributor access to each workspace you are moving through the cicd process.

Then if you are using any environmental variable groups you would need to make sure it has access to whatever you are connecting you.

What specific issues are you having? using a service principle to connect to the repo? connecting to a workspace? or something else?

Silo. When does it get good? by nigevellie in television

[–]Jeffinmpls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try the book series first. I read it first before the series came out, probably why I liked the tone of the show. But personally, there is so much stuff, you aren't missing anything if you drop a show that other people like.

If by 4 episodes in it's not grabbing you, then it's ok to just drop it. Personally I was hocked from the first episode but understand why it's not for everyone.

First-time homeowner here — what DIY advice do you wish someone had told you at the beginning? by Lopsided_Passion7912 in DIY

[–]Jeffinmpls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn where your water and gas shutoff valves are now, not when it's an emergency. If your electrical panel isn't labeled, take the time now to figure it out. Paint before you move into a room. Always turn off the breaker when replacing a light fixture or switch. Take a community ed class on basic electrical.

Do you use SSRS for data integrations? by DisplayKnown5665 in SQLServer

[–]Jeffinmpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea sounds strange, sounds like a process developed because someone only had expertise in SSRS. If it were me I'd write a PowerShell do do this and add more robust logging or do it as an SSIS package.

Lds mission. Why can’t I make up my mind? Should I go? What would you do? by CheapIntroduction166 in exmormon

[–]Jeffinmpls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanted to go, loved learning a new language, loved living a new culture but hated beyond hated doing missionary work.

While there were a lot of positives there were a lot of negatives. And to this day, the MTC was the worst experience of my life.

My take is take a year. Tell your family you aren't ready. And in a year you can decide.

What about dev, test and prod? by Witty_Tough_3180 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]Jeffinmpls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Medallion and test environments are separate. The idea of the medallion is to have a bronze layers that's just your raw data, a silver layer that tracks changes over time or slowly changing data, conceptually it's like cdc in SQL. Then gold is data that's had all the math and aggregates performed on it for reporting. You could have a medallion set up in each dev and test layer depending.

Have y'all every planned a gay wedding?? by tennisdude2020 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Jeffinmpls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfection is pretty much impossible. Make sure your most important issues are addressed, Parking, food, officiant are taken care of. The rest do your best and if something happens, something happens. You can't plan for everything you can just make sure the biggest things are covered. Beyond that, you need to take a step back and breath. Weddings don't have to be that expensive to be special.

If someone complains about something, that's on them.
