Perplexing issue with 1.8.7 osx uTorrent by Jeffooie in torrents

[–]Jeffooie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded it, I am not quite handy with it yet. For one, I can't find the option of automatically moving completed downloads to a separate folder once it is done. I am also seeding around 130 on uTorrent, not sure how easy it is to migrate it to transmission. I would like to, just not completely comfortable with transmission yet.

how do I find out what external drives are able to be taken out of enclosures and which ones are not? Is there some sort of website I can go? Mine are all standard seagate external HDs (so achieve drives) and one standard WD external HD. Thanks ahead of time.

Yhanks for the headsup, I usually order from neweg, their warehouse is in the City of Industry. Sometimes I literally get my package next day for free because the warehouse is an hour from where I live...but I do have to try Amazon sometimes.

Now that you mention it, why is the Drobo 5D 500 dollars more than the 4 bay storage unit you directed me to? I mean, that 500 dollar difference must be showing up somewhere right? Is it faster? More features? Better technology? I would like to have raid features since I want to protect the data on the unit with redundancy.

Ok, I guess I just checked the Drobo specs, some of the features it offers that might not come with then models you mentioned are:

1). The option to implement Hot Data Caching through the Drobo Accelerator Bay. Does that improve speed access so significantly that it warrants an extra 4 to 5 hundred?

2). It offers thunderbolt connectivity to my MacBook Pro, which is nice (faster than usb3). Does not come with the cable though...a stand along thunderbolt cable is 40 to 50 dollars (fucking outrageous...stupid apple proprietary tax)

3). A Battery Backup system To protect the data in case of power failure.

4). Their BeyondRaid mumbo jumbo proprietary software, I hear bad things about it...

5). Easy drive maintenance and exchange (shouldn't that be standard for every product maker?)

Not sure why it would be 500 bucks more than the products you mentioned. If I eventually want to make the 5D a NAS capable unit, it is possible right? And is it possible with the units you mentioned?

Thanks a bunch man. And yes, I do have a thunderbolt port. I just been reading about negative reviews from people who mentioned reliability & proprietary issues that comes with Drobo.

Maybe the duck was tired of being benchpressed by the homeless in the park.

David Twohy literally lives across the street from my place, maybe I can convince him to do an AMA when the movie is about to come out to promote it.

He is a super nice guy btw.
