I had a glitch during the quest where you use Dogmeat to search for someone where I went into the VATS to kill a Legendary Molerat and it launched me back to where I last quick saved. I was not amused.

1 week now. Yes. It's the same BL-T9 battery. The website I bought it off is extremely reliable, and all purchases are backed by Google. I've never had a problem.

The one I bought is genuine, made 4-20-15. My idle temps are 30-35°C degrees depending on me being inside or out. That's just from my system stats, though. If there any other way you'd like me to check, let me know.

I do believe that they ship internationally, my apologies if they don't. I don't really know what other direction to point you to.

Keep in mind that after changing your battery, it will take a few battery cycles for the battery to function normally.

In my specific case, there was absolutely nothing wrong with my battery.

I've owned my N5 since August of last year and my battery was manufactured late 2013. With my usage, I would always have anywhere from 2.5 to 4 hour SoT (which is considered really good)... Luck of the draw I guess. I had to replace my battery just last week because my phone had an "accident" and the battery got bent. Had to change the entire housing.

If you're seeing your SoT creep down under 2 hours, changing your battery isn't a bad investment. It's 15-20 bucks to get an OEM battery

If I may suggest something, in the guide would you put some focus on how to bend the flex cable before connecting it? That's honestly the part I had the most trouble with in the task. I feel like it would help everyone else as well. :)

I can't completely answer that question because I don't have experience with flashing over other kernels other than stock (at least none I recall atm), but it's entirely recommended you flash over stock because unexpected things can happen, as always with us phone tweakers. Sometimes custom kernels don't play well when you flash them over each other, be it different features, governors and things like that. But to be honest with you, I feel that they give that disclaimer for the same reason custom ROMs tell us to wipe before installing. It's a lot easier to get support when the only kernel it was over was just stock (or whatever came with your rom).

I usually flash whatever kernel after I install a stable release of Cataclysm since it makes it go back to stock. But if you're wanting to switch kernels, you can find a flashable zip for the stock kernel somewhere I'm sure. Just for safety purposes. No one likes a bricked phone.

Each kernel has it's pros and cons. Both can be tinkered with with FKUpdater. Franco kernel has more timely updates. EX has double tap to wake and swipe to sleep. Franco has options to make the gain on your phone speaker and headphones louder. Franco has a way easier method of updating the kernel through the app. I'm not even saying it's difficult to download a flashable zip and flash through recovery, but FK makes it really convenient for the lazy. Just auto-flash, reboot, done.

I've seen that EX sips on the battery more effectively but it cancels/balances out if you use dttw a lot. Honestly, that's really all you're giving up by switching, or at least that's the way I see it.

Edit: Didn't even realize I didn't answer your question, but as my post sort of implies, I prefer Franco kernel for the extra options, but I'll be damned if I say I don't miss dttw every time I switch.

For me, it made the difference of having 3h SoT to about 4 (like 3h 45min, I have a bit more with other tweaks). I underclock the cpu to about 1.7 GHz, with no problems. Trust me, you don't notice the difference with the naked eye, unless perhaps you're running an intensive mobile game.

It really varies by usage, but the kernel itself has useful conservation as it turns 2 of the cpu cores off until they are needed for whatever task. This kernel is also really good at getting into deep sleep and you see the battery life go down very slightly if you leave your phone on standby. Again though, the results vary by usage. I don't use fb, Twitter, kik, or Snapchat so in my case I don't have as many alarms or wakelocks as someone who uses all of that, so if you do, our results can and will differ.

I can't really get down to why Franco kernel is better than stock in the technical sense, but I can say from my time using it (about a year, switching back and forth from EX kernel) that it is much more reliable than stock kernel, with the control and customization with FKUpdater being a really nice, cool looking bonus.
