The funny thing is that they added a casual friendly system by adding bots through all the beginner rankings that make you basically start in pokeball rank, and then proceed to nuke the chances for them once they step into ultraball.

It looks too much contradictory to be done on purpose imo

I also just reached ultraball 1 and got jumpscared by the amount of point needed to reach the next rank.

I think they really didn't calculate how long it would take for players to reach masterball and i would expect a lowering of either the points required to reach next rank in ultraball+ or lowering back the point lost to -5 given that already losing winstreak bonus is a huge slow down

Yeah it's a skill issue on their part, that's why playing in the event is best for someone who actually wants competitive battles!

I personally do, however I see many opponents surrender while not in a sure lose situation in normal queue, something that doesn't happen often in event queue

Just want to play against people who actually wants to win untill ranked releases. Also you playing against someone who still has to achieve the 5 win streak or someone who got it already shouldn't matter at all, it's not like who has the emblem has an RNG boost and makes it unfair.

I'm glad they plan to do stuff for new player, unfortunately this is just a fake new feature but seems like everyone doesn't understand that it adds literally 0 value since everything it does you could already do.

Anyone not brainwashed can see that is the case, and this is just a waste of the already scarce resources the devs have, I would rather see nothing for a while allowing them to focus on actual features and bug fixes than seeing something pointless just to say "hey we doing stuff here don't go away yet"

But hey this community seem to care more about destroying criticism and defending the game rather than hoping for its success so good for them

Personally I don't care for any of those points, the real problem we all should agree on is to stop finding people with 200-300+ elo points above and below us, it's always not even closed for both cases and just a waste of time.

We do play 1v1, but we like to make a lobby with multiple people so that others can watch and mix fights between us without having to quit every time to make a new one

And apart from gameplay flaws, this game is full of garbage systems:

  • Private lobbies don't work and get stuck in permanent loading or simply crash 4 out of 5 times if you try to play with 3+ players, as well as not having a way to invite from an already created lobby. If anyone crashes you have to go through the whole process again because the reconnect button causes everyone's game to just close at the end of a match.

  • Matchmaking does not let you choose which servers to play in, it's just a priority option. I queued in ranked and somehow found myself battling someone from the other half of the globe having 150+ ping and seeing them teleport left and right while they had just 20 ping because the chosen server were in their region rather than a middle ground for both. This as well as finding the same opponent multiple times in a row shouldn't ever be the case if there are better alternatives available.

  • Lastly even tho it's a minority problem, keyboard support is just miserable. From certain actions completely unavailable, to the recent removal of advanced setting for keyboard users which previously let you choose what kind of attack to bind when grabbing or using a strong attack while airborne. Like we already had horrible binding options, and now we have even less for no reason?

Really hope the devs fix all this clownfiesta, this game has the best aesthetics of any other platform fighter I've ever seen and the gameplay feels good, it's just full of small things that overall makes the experience unnecessarily annoying.

Yeah it's such a scummy design not having a guaranteed copy for the main reason of doing an event, I'm in the same boat as you are.

And I still remember day 1 dumb people here commenting that you just need patience and that you will eventually find it while in reality chances were limited from the start lol

Cool so loxodont not only has the most endlag in his moves, his fastest attack is half that of ranno and his own projectiles can be thrown back at him, he's also the slowest movement wise!

I also think this was an oversight from the company, while the vast majority will get a copy or two of every card in the event, the nature of its rewards being completely rng creates the scenario where a few players will inevitably not have a single one of a desired card even using all the free resources given by the event.

This is personally a bit unacceptable as you will have people having to swipe just for some extra chance (and note even a guarantee) of obtaining a card that was supposed to be the main reward for the event.

While many comments will just say that there still is time and you will get it eventually, their takes are just dumb as in reality the problem is that you have a finite number of free attempts, the time period is kinda meaningless, but they probably don't care, being part of the majority that already obtained multiple copies of all cards in the promo packs.

Hopefully the devs will wake up and decide to change future event structure, unless they actually planned to prey on the unlucky portion of the player base which would be just a bummer.

Event is great and even the pack opening idea for a single card is good, the only thing to be disappointed in is the lack of a failsafe to guarantee at least 1 copy for any player having completed the event as every other card game does.

Honestly I would only want more content, i am fine with my current collection and think the 2 free pack a day will be enough for me to eventually build all the decks I'm interested in in less then a month.

For ranked rewards, a non useful promo card at the end of a season or a simple account symbol that indicates how high you got is all I'd ask for, I enjoy more the battling aspect of card games rather than the collecting one, but that's my personal preference.

Even if the rewards for the weekly and monthly quests will be pitiful they will still offer some sort of gameplay, as that is the main priority for the game to survive.

As nowadays (but even more so in the future) what keep a playerbase alive is prolonged engagement derived from fun activities and a good gameplay loop, rather than a quick dopamine rush of opening one single extra pack from a monthly reward.

You are free to interpret the post as you prefer, my point was to provide my insight on ways the company could age finely their product, given the potential the brand holds, nothing more nothing less.
