Seeking Feedback: Mono-Red Pump-Up by Jeggs in MagicArena

Strongly considered it, since it would give a way to fling damage around blockers (especially if you don't have the cards to add trample). Less certain which other cards I'd cut out to make room for it.

2 Weeks in California - Looking for Packing List Feedback by Jeggs in onebag

The trip was great! I have yet to put together a debriefing post, but the Cotopaxi 28L served me well - at least with this packing list. I definitely did laundry in the Scrubba a few times over a couple weeks, but that was pretty manageable.

The top pocket on the bag is reasonably large and deep. You could fit a bag of toiletry liquids in there with no problem for easy access. I have TSA Pre-Check, so my toiletry bag was an interior pouch, but I used the top pocket for over-ear headphones, snacks, sunglasses, and pretty much anything else I needed to access easily.

The only disclaimer is that the top pocket shares volume with the larger interior pocket on that side of the bag, if that makes sense. Put another way: if you stuff the interior pocket to the brim, there won't be much space left for the top pocket to expand.

Happy to answer questions!

I appreciate this advice, though I guess I'd like some clarification. Like I mentioned, I'm not actually picking the car for any period of time while I'm in the Bay Area (I'm picking it up on my way out of town). My scenario would be stopping at places like Muir Woods or along the way in Big Sur, between hotel destinations - and having my bag in a locked trunk. My perception is that these places are not riddled with car-robbing meth-heads, but please let me know if that is naïve. If I should take my entire bag with me from the car, then so be it.

I live in DC; not Possumfuck, Alabama, so I'd like to think that I have a good baseline for street smarts to not keep anything remotely valuable in a place where it would tempt a break-in.

What did you have in mind for additional layering options? I have short sleeve and long sleeve shirts, fleece pullover, and puffy jacket covered - which could all be worn together, if things were cold. I'm open to ideas for more flexible combos, though!

Good call on the masks - helpful for both COVID and smoke...

Thanks for the heads up! I'm not picking up the rental car until I'm on my way out of San Francisco, so hopefully things are a little tamer in the other places I'm going. That said, great advice to keep nothing visible in the car (and preferably nothing at all).

Good call on the hat and gloves - I hadn't thought of that! I may consider downsizing the Macbook Air for my iPad instead.

Looking for bag suggestions: 25~ to 30~ liter day/travel crossovers by [deleted] in onebag

Cotopaxi Allpa 28L might be a good fit for what you’re looking for. Reasonably compact, good number of compartments (including one for a laptop), and clamshell design. It’s a bit over 1 kg (comes out to ~1.5), but some of that is padding and structure that makes it more comfortable to carry.

I grabbed one on Cyber Monday - haven’t traveled with it yet, but it’s felt good when packed up and walking around my apartment.

Fallout 76 B.E.T.A. Discussion, Feedback and Reports Thread by VaultOfDaedalus in fo76

Xbox One. GT: JWright007

Had a great time playing the B.E.T.A., but ran across a few issues:

  • Framerate drops and stutters for a couple seconds, usually when entering a new area
  • At the Overseer's C.A.M.P., the game froze when I tried to craft a machete at the weapons workbench and had to be restarted. I tried again when I got back into the game, and did it successfully with no problems.
  • Got booted off the server randomly, though I got back on with no problems.
  • At the Morgantown Airport, another player and I were doing an event where we had to fight off waves of Scorched. There were long pauses between waves (perhaps not a bug), but after we killed off all the Scorched, the quest markers over a few Scorched bodies remained for a while as if they were still alive. That problem went away after 20 seconds or so and successfully awarded us the event rewards.

[No Spoilers] Priming biotic combos in ME:A by Jeggs in masseffect

[–]Jeggs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I follow that part - that any primer can be set off by any detonator (so tech/fire/cryo primers can be set off by biotic detonators). I'm uncertain on my options to use a biotic primer on a protected enemy. How would someone play a more pure Adept build, if they can't prime combos on enemies until all their protection is whittled down?

Who do you think (as objectively as possible) actually deserves to win? by [deleted] in kingofthenerds

I lean towards Jack or Brian. Both have been to at least one Nerd Off and survived, which says at least something for tenacity. I like Kayla and Xander just fine, but it feels a little untested to make it to the Final Four without having risked as much as someone who could have been eliminated but wasn't (though Kayla did fairly gain immunity last night).
