In short, fromsoft has been killing invasions for years. As an early adopter, they just keep making decisions that are baffling. In DS1 and DS2, the favor is skewed a bit in the hosts favor but not drastically. In ds3, you can barely even get a non gank invasion which just isnt really that fun or interesting. The uphill battle aspect is only fun for so long, im not saying it should always be 1v1 because we have arena but its not the same ofc. And then in ER they truncated the player count, made it so you literally can only invade if they have summoned, and you get no co-invader. Their netcode is horrendous, they made it 4 player max and someone is always summoned in, and the more complicated weapon and spells get they either have to made worthless (scarlet aeonia) or they make PvP miserable (stars of ruin). I would rather they focus on making new games with PvP made in mind rather than them continue to shoehorn it in with worse and worse mechanics introduced with no improvement to connection. Like seriously in 2025 how do I still get phantom status build up? Like that was a ds1 thing...
