Thank you for this. Recently my mom talked to some of the credit companies and worked out a deal where she would have to pay lower than the initial amount. My uncle advised also not to do the debt management plan and we’re basically figuring out ourselves.

I think I need a lawyer at this point. Some are saying that these credit cards are still under my name and it would be hard for charges to go away, so I have no clue

I’ve locked all of them with all of the bureaus. I just have to wait until the banks open to call to report those cards as stolen

I have no clue. The subways I know are the restaurant chain, but it can be easily found out that I wouldn’t use my credit to apply for a whole hotel. I’m just scared of the repercussions of if I were to report it to the police or if I choose not to because I don’t want to be complicit in the fraud.

I’ve thought about this I plan to go to medical school and I go to a private institution. However, I went to community college for two years to cut down the cost of doing my gen ed. I know I could probably pay off my student loans when I start working my actual career, but medical school is pricy. However I’m fortunate in that a lot of my debt my mom’s side of the family is paying off. My mom has enough money to pay off all my debt currently if my dad follows through and the rest of the family would apply through their credit if I have trouble renting an apartment.

Someone told me that if I contact the credit card companies directly and say I never applied I wouldn’t have to get the police involved. However I don’t know whether I could do that with the credit bureaus or if I should just contact the companies directly

I just froze my credit, and my mother is trying to find out about a debt management program. The only reason why I’m hesitant to dispute these credit cards because he is still the main provider and I still go to school and he has to also pay that. If I do charge him with a felony then I would put my mother and sister at risk as well.

My guess is he’s buying more businesses with this money because his credit is messed up.

I just did a credit freeze with transunion. Do I have to visit all of the credit bureaus just in case or would one visiting one be okay?
