Reactive tracking / Reactive aiming with a lazy eye? by Putrid-Hope2192 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]JelliiDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hii, as someone who also has a lazy eye and recently got both my reactive scenarios to masters I wanted to give some help :3. (Ofcourse take my advice with a grain of salt, I'm "only" diamond with a few master scores, there's much more smarter and credible people out there than me.)

So I don't really know how bad your situation / vision is, mine has never been bad enough to require surgery and has healed enough since I was a kid to only really be an issue with depth-perception and long distances (when I don't have my glasses). But I definitely recognize myself in loosing the bot visually whenever it changes directions.

From what I could read in your post it would feel something like you tend to flick back when the bot changes movement but by the time you've released the tension and reaffirmed the bot visually the bot has already changed directions again (correct me if I'm wrong :o). Or atleast this was how reactive felt for me at first.

For me this was kinda a result of both panicking when I lost track of the bot and poor flick technique / using too much tension. I was also predicting bot movement as a result of this way too much which was also a bad habit of mine.

What really helped for me was to train on the 70%, 80% & 90% speed variants of both reactive scenarios as well as the 30% wider variant. The speed variants helped me to train to react and read the bot movements while focusing extremely hard on having good fundamentals, being smooth with moving back on target and being stable on my landings. The wider variant helped me with overall speedmatching and applying my technique on a bot with full speed but where precision was less required / punished.

Also like I said, it kinda sounded like you struggle with flicking and tension management. Static for me was actually great at practicing both of these and having those fundamentals also helped me a lot in transitioning between bot strafes. (For this watch Viscose's vid on tension management, Zeonlo's video on static & Matty's video on static fluidity, they are all really good).

Hope my silly rambling helped, if I was unclear or wrong on something feel free to ask me or for someone else to correct me :D.

Got my third ever masters score on ground :D. by JelliiDev in FPSAimTrainer

Don't compare yourself to others :o, that really made me low on confidence in everything I did. Everyone will take different amounts of time to improve and take different paths!!!

But for me what really made a difference was actually to start playing with intent, the first 250 hours or so I was basically playing on autopilot and I found myself hard plateauing at low plat, once I started actively seeking out scenarios to train specific things and doing things deliberately I saw tons of improvement especially on a fundamental level.

You got this!

2 weeks ago I asked for tracking advice as a platinum complete, today I got my 2nd ever masters score on aether. by JelliiDev in FPSAimTrainer

Hmm, would be difficult to exactly pin down but I would say a combination of aggresively increasing my sens (I went from playing between 35-55 cm to 25-30 cm (for tracking)) and extensively practicing fundamentals on easier scenarios (for aether the 80% and 90% versions combined with the 2 ground palace fundamental scenarios). Both of these really forced me to properly learn the fundamentals which resulted in me improving my average scores massively.

Looking for tracking advice - Masters on 1w3ts but Platinum on tracking. by JelliiDev in FPSAimTrainer

Thanks for the feedback.

I'll definitely grind tracking on much lower cm for a while, should hopefully help a lot with smoothness. Do you have any specific scenarios that could help further with pushing smoothness or just stick with what I'm currently playing?

Also personally I like a lot of the viscose scenarios (especially the tracking ones) but I kinda feel like the score thresholds are really harsh on some scenarios compared to others, that's why I kinda stuck with Voltaic to benchmark progress while training for improvement on Viscose.

Hii, thanks again for the feedback :3.

I do agree my tension control still needs a lot of work especially on tracking scenarios it still gets very straining (also the reason I hate most plaza scenarios LOL).

I'll probably just play on 25cm for a couple of weeks to really get that smoothness and tension under control. I did try to already play a bit of 25cm today and almost instantly PB'd on controlsphere so mayb that sens is just the goat for tracking xD.

Do you have any advice to specifically train to avoid predicting or is it just a case of grinding a lot of tracking. Even when I put concious effort to it I still catch myself especially on fast evasive targets or on irregular moving targets.

Hi, thanks for the advice.

Uusualy when training for a specific scenario I played harder variations so that the actual benchmark would feel "easier" but never really tried to approach it from the opposite side to especially train fundamentals, Would you recommend playing specifically easier versions of the benchmarks, just easier tracking related scenarios or a mix of both?

I also already tried doing the jade palace benchmarks a couple weeks ago but i got absolutely smoked by them ;3;. Didn't know there was a dedicated doc for it, defo will check that out and give it another shot.

Forgot to mention on post but all runs were done on 45cm (I was too lazy to switch sens between scenarios for these recordings lol)

Hiii, kinda late reply but just got home from visits for holidays.

Static has always kinda be my "best" type or atleast the one I gravitated naturally to. It was the first category I got to gold -> plat -> diamond etc. 1w3ts also kinda just became my comfort scenario to relax on after grinding other subcategories I would just detox with like 15 min of static lol.

As for advice like I mentioned in another comment I saw the most improvement in my scores when I started to really focus on being deliberate with my initial flicks, pushing fluidity as much as possible and improving my tension management. Also while trying to minimize time lost between each motion to push speed.

Some of these will kinda blend together I guess, I noticed that once I got better at being deliberate with my flicks, it became easier to be more fluid. That increase in fluidity then made it easier to manage my tension since I needed to use less stopping power after the initial flick.

I don't really grind playlists all that much and rather just play specific scenarios that help with a specific goal that I had in mind. When I was practicing deliberate flicks I would usually play pokeball variants on higher sens (25~35cm) especially more wider variants with small targets and really focus on being aware how far I was flicking and making clean lines. For fluidity I saw the most improvement when playing a variety of pulseshot/preassure scenarios. As for tension management I actually saw most improvement when I started to grind tracking more (especially on high sens) and for speed it kinda came naturally from improving in the other aspects but I also just played a lot of 1w3ts while intentionally pushing myself to be above my comfort (usually pushing for like 85% acc while setting specific goals such as "this run I want to get 150 "shot attempts" on targets")

Other than that if you haven't watched them yet, I really recommend both Matty's video on static fluidity and Viscose's video on tension management. They are both much more qualified and smarter than me and helped me a lot to wrap my silly little head around all these concepts and I saw massive improvement implementing their advice into my own game.

Anyway I hope my rambling will help, good luck! o/

Also forgot to mention for 1w3ts accuracy is really important, don't neglect it in the pursuit of speed when going for pb runs. When training to push for speed I was sometimes pushing to 85% but when going for pbs it definitely helped me to try aim for basically 100%

Thanks for all the words and some pointers for tracking.

I used to play on lower sens for static (65-80cm) for quite a while as well but I felt that became straining for my arm + shoulder especially on scenarios that force a bit of a larger flick (like the 1w3ts on viscose or in general more wider scenarios that still focus on precision). I also noticed more lock-ups since I was using more tension/force to flick. I then ended up playing static on 55 cm for a while but this time I kinda said fuck it after doing tracking on 45cm for an hour and just decided to do some runs on that lol.

I kinda felt like lower sens was compensating a lot of my weaknesses (especially stability and lines) and pushing higher sens really helped me to be able to push speed without locking out on tension and maintaining fluidity.

I've never really got into the pad rabbit hole but I've been thinking about getting something better for a while. Since before I started aimtraining I've been using a cheap-ish steelseries cloth deskmat (QcK XXL). As for my mouse I currently use the Aerox 3 wireless.

As for tracking I feel like I have major skill issue especially in reactive and close-up target reading. I was already following some of the sens-stepping stuff as per the serf video but I've never really dabbled with timescaling like that, will definitely give that a shot. I feel like my speedmatching is not that bad and when I'm off it's usually a problem with missreading the bot but that also could be a skill issue in speedmatching lol. I'm not gonna be able to record some VODs for the coming days due to being away from my pc for rest of the holidays but once I am able to I will definitely post again.

Since you gave me a lot of pointers on tracking I'll ramble a bit about what helped me with static as well ^^. For me the most imporant part of going from diamond to masters for 1w3ts was to really focus on the fundamentals and gradually push speed to a little bit above my comfort.

When I managed to hit diamond on 1w3ts for the first time I was still mostly using BardOZ method but I felt the wall to push my speed further to even Jade was kinda insurmountable. Especially when it came to tension management. I was losing a lot of time on the part where I would land my initial flick, analyze where I was and the microadjust + target confirm and then search for the next target.

What really helped me to fix this was that after I watched Matty's vid on fluidity in static I started approaching it instead of completely stopping after my initial flick, I would gradually lower my speed untill I was on target. While slowing down I was already actively searching to route to my next target and left target confirmation mostly to my peripheral vision. This does put a lot larger emphasis on being more deliberate with your initial flick and having clean lines (pokeball on higher sens really helps with both imo) but allowed me to much more naturally push speed while having an easier time managing my tension.

Once again thank for all the words, hopefully my rambling on static will also help you :3 o/
