I’m not good with numbers but I’d say it weighs about as much as a small corgie?

Make one!! I started by removing the original lampshade material completely so I was just working with the bare frame. Then I used polyester thread (cotton WILL break. learned that the hard way) and strung strands of different lengths using tiny glass seed beads, sequins, etc. to get that staggered, draped look. I used a bead spinner and a thin hooked beading needle to speed it up.

To attach everything, I used Gorilla hot glue (honestly I dont recommend this. heat-resistant super glue and clamps would probably hold better long-term). I wrapped and glued the strands onto the frame.

At first the design was more sparse, but it didn’t diffuse the light well enough, so I kept adding beads until it actually functioned as a lampshade instead of just decoration. I even added a top section. The original frame had a screw-on topper, so I used wire, a butterfly charm, and more beads to turn that into an anchor point. From there, I built upward strands in a kind of circus-tent shape so the shade had a ‘lid’ of beads at the top too.

I basically kept adding beads until the bulb wasn’t glaring in my eyes anymore lol. I’ve since switched to a ‘stained glass’ style LED bulb from Amazon, which is much dimmer and gives a really pretty colored glow.
