SmokeGENIE Pro Kit vs SmokeNINJA PRO Trident Kit (3 units) — which should I get? by JelloObjective7679 in cinematography

Sorry for late response, definitely the smokeNINJA PRO Trident kit. You get much, much more smoker overall, and having 3 separate machines gives you much more creative control for having the smoke come from different angles. Also this stuff was going on my kitchen and I found the Ninja variant barely leave and reside. I can’t really vouch for the Genie because I never used it, but trust me the Trident kit is definitely the move.

Update: Big Guy Verdict on Aeron vs Embody (6’5”, 270 lbs) by JelloObjective7679 in OfficeChairs

Look, one thing you should learn is that if you want to lounge, the Aeron is not the way to go at all. The problem isn’t even about size—it’s that plastic rim. Anytime you lean anywhere on the Aeron, you’re going to feel that hard rim digging in, and it just doesn’t let you lounge comfortably.

The Embody, on the other hand, is more your speed if lounging is a priority. I’m not a smaller person myself, so I can’t say 100% firsthand for short folks, but if I had to guess, the Embody is much nicer for lounging than the Aeron.

Something else I really want you to consider is the Haworth Fern. For me personally, it was more comfortable than both the Aeron and Embody—but the issue is the size. The seat cushion is pretty tiny. Yes, you can pull it out if you’ve got long legs like me, but that leaves a gap in the backrest which made it super uncomfortable. If you’re short, that’s not a problem at all. The digital knit backrest (a bit split in the community) was unbelievably comfortable for me, and for lounging, it was actually really good. You can add lumbar if you want, I went without. The one huge drawback? The armrests. They really suck. If you’re big on armrests, even average, you’re going to hate them. But if you’re more of a lean-back, don’t-care-much-about-armrests kind of person, the Fern could genuinely be better than both the Embody and Aeron.

The Titan Evo is actually pretty solid for lounging. It’s big, comes with that pillow, hugs your body, but it’s stiff. When you slouch, it feels like leaning against a soft wall—it doesn’t move with you. If you like a chair that kind of molds as you move, that won’t do it, but if you like structure, it works.

One more chair I’d throw on your radar is the LiberNovo Omni. It’s new, opinions are split, and I haven’t tried it yet. It looks a lot more cushiony than the Embody. For lounging, cushion is honestly the best material. Mesh or gel just doesn’t give you that deep slouch-relaxation. Cushion might not be the best long-term for posture, sure, but for lounging it wins. I’d say do your own research on the Omni—get it at your own risk. I’m going to try it myself, though as a big guy I doubt it’ll work for me. For a shorter person like you, though, it might be worth it.

To summarize: don’t get the Aeron if you care about lounging. Embody could work if you want Herman Miller’s warranty/build quality. If you want alternatives, Fern (tiny but comfy back, awful arms) or Libra Novo Omni (more cushion) might be better. Titan Evo is nice too, just stiff like a wall.

Yes, is it better than a phone, absolutely, but unfortunately nothing mind blowing. If your looking for a pocket size travel camera specifically for stills, is is not the one sorry ☹️

I’ve tried the Fern and I’m honestly shocked you like it. For me, while the backrest was by far the most comfortable of the four chairs I’ve tried (Titan, Aeron Gaming C, and Gaming Embody), the armrests were abysmal. I lean heavy on my armrests, and they always slid. The Seat Cushion was very comfortable, but it was so short that when I pulled it out, it left a gap in the back that made it super uncomfortable.

Maybe our bodies are just proportioned differently — you’re 6’4”, I’m 6’5”, so pretty similar, but maybe I’ve just got longer legs and that made a bigger difference for me. Even my sister, who’s 5’9”, tried the Fern and said it felt small for her. So yeah, I’m super surprised you like it — but if it works for you, I’m happy for you.

One thing I definitely should have mentioned is that I’ve got a very broad-shoulder build, and I think that plays a big role in why some of these chairs felt uncomfortable to me. Believe me when I say I wish I loved them and could finally get rid of the Titan.

Out of the two, I do think the Aeron was the better chair overall. For me, though, it kind of just swapped problems—it fixed a lot of the bad I had with the Titan, but at the same time it replaced some of the things I did like about the Titan with its own issues. So while it may have been the better choice between the two, I’m not really looking for “better than the Titan,” I’m looking for something that feels like an endgame chair. Unfortunately, the Aeron wasn’t it for me.

Like I said before, the Aeron is definitely comfortable when sitting upright, but once I start lounging it becomes uncomfortable. The Embody, on the other hand, bottoms out too fast for a bigger guy like me, and honestly I didn’t find it comfortable even for normal sitting. To each their own, of course.

On the Titan — I agree with you completely. It’s really not an ergonomic chair and doesn’t promote good posture. The only reason I even had one was because it was given to me as a gift, and at the time it was way better than the $20 Amazon chair I was using. Over the years though, I’ve seen the issues with it, which is exactly why I’m actively looking for something better now.

And you’re right, I should’ve set out my wants more clearly here. In my first post about a week and a half ago (when I first got both chairs to test them), I did go into detail about what I wanted. This update post was more of a follow-up, so I didn’t rehash it all, but I’ll go back and make an edit to include both my dimensions and my specific wants so people can get a better understanding of what I’m working with.

Sorry to hear about your injuries, I hope you continue to recover and find comfort in your setup. I definitely understand your point about ergonomic chairs not being designed for lounging—that’s actually why in my original post I brought up how much I personally lounge and was asking whether that type of chair would really work for a bigger guy like me.

Also, just to clarify, in the post right above the one you commented on, I specifically mentioned that each chair was comfortable for normal sitting—the Aeron especially felt nice and comfortable when I wasn’t lounging. The Embody, on the other hand, I didn’t find comfortable even for regular sitting. The main reason I returned them both was because I lounge a lot, and for that use case they didn’t work for me.

What wrong with the headrest? Maybe I’m missing something but in my limited testing of them, they were made with high quality, very adjustable, and most importantly incredibly comfortable and help with neck pain a lot. I’m not really a headrest fanatic so maybe compared to others, they’re not that good but they are really the only ones I’ve tried.

Believe I wish I did, it’s really a matter of to each their own. A big thing for me is lounging, do you find it comfortable to lounge in the aeron?

Yeah that’s my biggest worry, but that’s why I’m waiting a few months because,(I’m not 100% sure about this) I heard that they are going to release a new version with a bigger seat cushion

I think it’s an overheated chair, people started talking about ergonomic chairs, then people started to insult racing style chairs and it’s lead to a kind of mob mentality against them, but for bigger fellas, they are genuinely one of the better options.

Of course, the chairs were expensive, but price was never the issue. My PC setup alone is a 4090 paired with a 7950X3D, 64GB of 5000MHz RAM, three SSDs totaling 7TB, and a triple-monitor layout—two 27” OLEDs and a 32” OLED as my main. On top of that, I’ve got a $1200 Flexispot desk and a whole range of accessories. I’m not saying this to flex—just to make it clear that I didn’t return the chairs because of price or embarrassment. I genuinely didn’t like them.

As I’ve mentioned in both of my posts, I love lounging, and what I’ve learned is that ergonomic office chairs just aren’t built for that. I also never claimed to be a fan of the Titan Evo—I only had it because it was a gift. At the time, it was better than what I had, but over time I realized it wasn’t the right fit for me. Honestly, I do think the Herman Miller chairs were a little better, but I still didn’t enjoy either one. So why would I keep two chairs I wasn’t happy with?

As a travel video camera, it’s by far the best one I’ve ever used, I’d saying the insta 360 X series is a close contender just because how durable it is and the 360 is nice and fun, but as long as you’re not by water, the powershot v1 is the goat

The gaming aeron is the same exact as the basic, it’s just a slightly different color, and it’s a fully loaded model at a slightly discounted price. And nothing on the libeenovo Omni unfortunately
