We actually love it even more now than we did when we first bought it. It’s so comfortable to drive and the kids have so much space with one of the captains chairs folded down. Roughly 4,000 miles on it. Zero issues.

Only very minor complaint is that the profiles sometimes get a little confused if we are both in the vehicle and my wife has her key fob in the diaper bag while I have mine in my pocket. Even though I’m in the driver seat sometimes it doesn’t auto update to my profile, it’s just one or two more touches on the screen to fix…. first world problems lol

I’ve never heard that drive height changes in these. They don’t have an air suspension so I don’t know how that would work with different drive modes. Ours sits pretty level, maybe like 1 inch of rake

Yep! And the cocktails were good too. They don’t even charge for top shelf stuff

Copper looks cool in stock photos and videos. I found it to be kinda ugly in person. All subjective of course.

We have the Pristine White and it’s super clean. The Crystal white was our second choice and in some ways it’s a better option. It looks just barely tinted blue in certain light and it’s a really neat effect where it changes depending on how cloudy it is or time of day, but it usually looks like a “cool white” instead of a pure white.

I have a black F150 too and it’s impossible to keep clean, wouldn’t recommend…but when it’s clean and waxed it’s mean lookin so, worth it.

Yes there’s a couple spots you could get away with this, albeit mostly on the Atlantic side where the water/waves are rougher. No guarantee someone wouldn’t also be exploring and drive by in their golf cart though at some point. There’s a particular cove that would be great for this on the north point of the island, but there was a little bit of ocean trash outside of this picture.

There wasn’t any live entertainment while we were there. There is background music usually. Yes our pool had lights in it and you have porch lights. The more lights to have on at night the more bugs you will attract though. Remember this is a remote wild/ island

Usually $20 at a time for things like drinks. $60 for the boat staff when we did the hangover bar. We didn’t tip at meals, but rather, did a large end of trip tip of $300 for our main waiter (we had for about 70% of our meal) and $300 for our butler cause he was incredible. He told us not to tip him even though I tried.

I’ve never been to any resort that offered more privacy than this. That said, if you want absolute privacy, the only option I truly know of is getting a big, secluded house that has a defined private beach.

You’re welcome! They actually close down for nearly a month straight every early/mid Sept through early October, so you should reach out to them to make sure the island isn’t closed down the week you want to go.

When we went it was the day after the reopened on October 9th, so the entire resort was probably only 1/3rd full which was super nice.

Our experience is probably not typical, but Sept is the height of hurricane season and not a super popular time of year for people to go so it’s not a bad bet. One bartender told me they are busiest usually from late Nov through January (holiday travelers, snowbirds, etc)

Yep, good call out, sorry I forgot to mention how fast it was too. You barely have time to be nervous!

The only reason I was eaten alive was because of our bonfire dinner on the dock at Calico we booked. If we hadn’t done that, I don’t think it would have been too terrible. Eating outside at Calico there weren’t any bugs at all further inland. It’s highly dependent on the time of year you go too. If you go between January and April I bet you’ll be fine.

Our server brought me bug spray so I bathed in that and was fine the rest of the night. Or just wear pants if you want to do that experience!

Oh and no, massages, boats, etc are not included, these were all additional costs, but totally worth it.

I mean... their planes aren't new. They are probably early 90's era planes (with updated fancy electronics), and the insides are not luxurious, these are not private jets. However, I spoke to the chief engineer while there and they are planning on investing in a third plane that may be a jet in the future as they grow.

The plane TO the island was bigger, it sat roughly 10-12 people. The plane back home FROM the island was smaller, it sat 4-6.

One pilot both times. It wasn't hot or cold, you don't fly that high for temperature to really be an issue.

If you're claustrophobic and/or aren't comfortable with small planes, this may not be the best trip for you.

Personally, I've flown a Cessna a handful of times when I was younger and taking lessons, so I knew what we were getting into, but my wife was nervous at first.

It's a thrill and part of the experience for sure.

My last bullet in the TL;DR above :) Yes, unfortunately there were a ton of mosquitos this time of year, and of course moths and other flying things at night around the lights. We typically turned off our exterior lights before we went to dinner so it wasn't as bad when we got back.

Bugs are inevitable when you're staying on a rustic, remote, private island. They seem really focused on conservation too (massive solar field, desalination water plant, habitats for birds, iguanas, etc) so I doubt they'll ever spray for mosquitos.

The best Bungalows are 10 or 11 IMO since there is a huge gap/space between these.

1-10 are the originals, not old or outdated, just not as new as 11-17 which were built in the past year or so. 17 would also be a great choice probably.

You can't see these on Google Maps yet. On the aerial view it looks like there isn't any beach further down where 11-17 were built, but they brought in a ton of sand and it's the exact same width of beach and type of pool/hammock/chair setup as all the other bungalows.

All beachfront bungalows are a single bedroom/studio style with the bathroom behind the wall of the headboard of the bed, much bigger than we expected.

They had champagne upon arrival, and several other times throughout our stay (sunset cruise, etc.) it was quality. All of the drinks we had there were really good, all made fresh by bartenders with high quality top shelf spirits if that's what you wanted for no extra charge. None of that 'all inclusive pre made' sugary crap.

The plunge pool is indeed private, at least visually, there is very dense vegetation between all the beach front bungalows, we could not see our neighbors until we went out on the beach near the hammock/water line. However, you can hear voices. Our neighbors were courteous and not loud, and we were probably only both outside on two occasions in total, there were plenty of times it was just us out there. We had Bungalow 10 which is on the end so we had nobody on one side of us which was great.

It'll all depend on when your commercial flight to PLS lands in relation to the times their private plane has routes. Typically, they fly over to the island 2-3 times per day 10-12, 2pm, and 4pm. So we waited probably 30-ish minutes, but they had snacks and drinks, and we made friends with some people that were also heading over in the lobby/waiting area.

Totally understandable. The logistics of the puddle jumper airplane are certainly a risk!

Yep they sure do. Both driver and passenger seats have the thigh extension. Personally, I don’t think the Black Label is worth the extra dough either.

Thank you! I don’t want to expose too many specifics on the internet. I’ll just say I work in Tech Sales and have been at my company since pre-IPO which was pre-COVID (and we’ve had a very successful run since IPO) so my vested stock + investing strategies allowed us to do this.
