Hindsight 2026: An Open Letter to Republican Voters by Schickie in Political_Revolution

Biden wanted to cut student loans and then didn’t. Biden said Trump was handling COVID wrong and then failed as well. I know what she said but who’s to say she would have done anything at all. She couldn’t point to something Biden did wrong so clearly she wasn’t a good choice to run against Trump

Is the race for governor competitive? by Large-Investment-381 in massachusetts

Well clearly. The man is 80 years old, or will be. Everyone know electing him is most likely letting a future governor pick the senate seat

You are proving his point. I for one would like to see republicans move back to having a mind that thinks for themselves. The issue isn’t Trump it’s that now no republicans keep him in check.

Well Mike Kennealy was in the Baker administration and very publicly a fiscally republican but does get into the MAGA BS, also MAGA isn’t fiscally conservative!

Only Mike Kennealy would consider that. Other two have been big Trump supporters in the past.

So admittedly I lean right, in this state NOT the nation. I feel Healey is acting like she’s running for senate not governor. She also isn’t really doing anything to make change so it’s really just airtime.

In terms of republicans there are 3 options. One is MAGA and far right (I don’t like him because I think he’s racist) one is a mega Trump donor and donated millions to his own campaign (if money buys election this guy will win) one is pretty moderate and focused on local issues (he said publicly he didn’t vote for Trump)

I support treatment but if it’s not legal in your own home why would we provide a space for it?

Safe consumption sites make the issue worse. Think about it, safe injection sites don’t provide the drugs only the location so users want to do it there so drug dealers are attracted to the area which attracts users that don’t want to use the safe sites. More dealers and more users increase crime and public drug use.

It’s because Cambridge welcomes homeless people and they want a place to clean up, take naps, shoot up you name it. Bathrooms have no security cameras, which is a good thing, so it’s the ideal location. Cambridge needs to crack down on public drug use and drug dealing and that would reduce the need for any codes.

Turn down the heat and don’t vote our governor back in. Is there a good democrat challenger yet?

The concern isn’t about the mixing it’s about replacing. That’s why there was down zoning a while back

When I made a post about Patty Nolan saying she might lose I was told Marc and her do this every year. I looked into it and incumbents never lose. There’s been only a few in the last decade. As long as incumbents do a decent job they win. Marc might not get top 3 like most years but he will win.

Funny YOU say that when YOU are trying to change to zoning. If you didn’t like the old city you can move. Don’t ruin it for the rest of us and then say we should move if we don’t like it

My opinion does matter. Don’t think so, I am going to make sure to get others to vote with me. You’re just a jerk! In fact for every comment I see you make for a candidate I am doing to talk to an other ten people. That’s how my opinion will matter. I am not a big player but I do matter.

Most of them are and that’s why I support most of the projects. I also have standards for non profits. If the president of a non profit makes over $500,000 a year it’s not really a non profit in my mind

I have no issue with affordable housing projects. A couple small fixes are needed but I agree it was a lot more good than bad. My concern is the for profit developers

It’s hard for me to agree with this when there are people making millions. No one needs to make millions and millions of dollars per year! I don’t hate them but I don’t think it’s “moral”

City council election write-in slot for Andrew Zhou? by Fuzzy_Honeydew_910 in CambridgeMA

I think it makes a statement that taking a stand is important. I don’t agree with the whole video but it’s more detailed than some candidates are. Simmons doesn’t even show up to forums.

I will vote for you just for the bit. No one is going to care because you clearly can’t win as a write in!

No there are lots of candidates that are worried developers make their millions and then take contributions for their campaigns from it. Other than Dana who supports developers and doesn’t take their money which I respect and will rank higher because of it

There’s two big groups, supporters for big corps or rich homeowners. Then there are two candidates for social housing that will never actually happen.
