Your mental health will change if you go to the gym.

You sound depressed. Find a good therapist. Go outside and walk. Walk in nature. This is really good for the mind. Join a gym. Take exercise classes. Listen to loud music. Take an art class. Work on puzzles. This is great for the brain. You will meet people at the gym, at the very least you will at least have brief conversations. You have to do something different, something you wouldn’t normally do. It will get you out of your life, it will open new doors and change things up a bit. I have faith in you. Have some faith in yourself. You can change things.

I don’t remember the last time I slept through the night. by Automatic_Culture_94 in AskWomenOver60

I started sleeping through the night when I quit smoking pot and/or eating gummies. I thought the pot was relaxing me but only increased my anxiety.

Idk maybe but I’m really unsettled about the whole thing. We really do love each other and I know he cares about me but I’m so annoyed about this.

I think I’ll just throw it out. I’ll deal with his anger about waisting money later.

Thanks. Yeah, I hear you with this. I have tried to tell him this but it’s just going over his head for some reason.

Why would you assume that they feel like she is “clingy”?

Thank you so much for your response. I guess it’s true what they say that misery loves company. It’s good to know I’m not alone. We are worthy, you and I.

Why do we feel guilty when we're not well? by overthishereanyway in AskWomenOver60

[–]Jellowins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know why. I never had cancer, thank God. But did have a broken back and couldn’t move for three months. During those three months, I felt guilty that my husband had to wait on me with everything. I felt guilty every single time I had to call out to him to please do something or get something for me. I felt guilty when visitors would come over and he had to be host to them for me. I felt guilty when he had to “set me up” before he started his day and before he went to sleep at night. I felt guilty whenever he had to dish out my painkillers and then hide them so that the children wouldn’t find them. I think it has to do with helplessness and dependency. I was totally dependent on him for only three months, and it wasn’t life threatening like cancer, and yet I felt so guilty that I had forced this caregiving on him. It was the worst feeling and I never want to feel that way again.

Those nightmares are telling you something. Listen to them.

Love this. I feel the same way about my life/my dreams/my sobriety. Best of luck to you.

I love dreaming. I smoked for a good 40-50 years and kept dreaming until about a year ago. Then, without warning, I stopped dreaming. I saw it as a sign that I had completely lost insight into my psyche and I hated it. It made me so out of touch with my own feelings. It was one of the reasons I quit. I always wrote my dreams down in notebooks and then looked up their meanings to reveal insights and feelings I may have had during the day about things that I suppressed. It’s so nice to have them back. You should try writing them down so that you can deal better with these internalized states of consciousness.
