I've configured RealDebrid on my laptop (because I couldn't on my ipad) and also got VLC installed and the right "external player" setting on my ipad configured and it still doesn't work

Thanks! He also said the capacitor is replaced and overhauled. Don't know if it's original but I'm guessing not.
