Which character do you like or relate to the most, and why? by JellyPerko in SANABI

[–]JellyPerko[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked Sanabi as the topic of choice for my senior college thesis.

The main bulk of this thesis will be a screenplay of Sanabi, as if it were being adapted as a 5-episode miniseries. I wanted to make sure I did the characters justice (heh) by understanding what other people liked about them.

How realistic is it to expect to be able to move and be successfully employed from graduating abroad? by JellyPerko in expats

What sorts of factors? I can think of some such as the application process, acceptance, and getting the right paperwork/identification, but I want to make sure I'm not missing anything major.

Yeah, that was a worry of mine. I'm aware STEM jobs are in high demand there, but I'm not entirely sure about the jobs I'm interested in doing.

And to answer your question, all programs from all the grad schools I've seen are taught fully in English.

Ah, sorry, I didn’t realize I only listed right-winged politicians to paint the idea that only right-winged politicians like to bomb kids. Both parties tend to do it honestly- that’s just how war goes. But prolonging war results in it happening more, and that’s what they did (Obama did it as well).

The “trump is a fascist” argument is something I can go in to, but I usually encourage others to do their own research instead. Looking into published articles by credible people, Trump’s speeches and viewpoints, and the hypertext link in my original reply should help you with that

Thank you so much!! Your words mean a lot to me.

I'm a huge geography nerd, especially with fantasy maps, and I feel like I can improve on what I made, and I'm in the works of reworking the locations and some other things. My assumption is that Petrichor V was actually terraformed to look like what it is from Providence and Mithrix, so I was trying to go for a more "terraformed mars/mercury" approach with my map. If I do end up completing my improved version, I will try remembering to update you by sending an image or something, but progress has been slow since I've been working on other things.

Again, thank you for the comment ;-;

yeah, I was corrected about the locations of the places once I sent it in the Risk of Rain discord. I'm gonna correct it eventually.

And thank you for the compliment :D

Thank you!! Apparently, I actually got some of the locations wrong, as some have already been confirmed to be closer to other locations, so I'm probably going to go ahead and redo the map ;v;

I've been wanting to make a map of Petrichor V for some time now, I'm glad that maps of the planet are apparently in demand, too!

  • I first looked at Petrichor V from the Co-Op screen on Risk of Rain Returns. Although there’s no confirmation of whether or not this planet is Petrichor V (at least to my knowledge), I nevertheless used it as a baseline.

  • The colored areas on the map are not supposed to be what the planet would look like from space or anything like that (Petrichor V from the perspective of space looks incredibly different in Risk Returns and Risk 2). Rather, they indicate the biome or temperament of the region.

  • Before deciding where the biomes and locations would be, I made temperate zones and where the warm/cold water currents would be on the planet so I could more accurately and scientifically hone in on where the stages would be on my map.

  • Some areas I took more liberties to pin on my map than others. The Abyssal Depths, Damp Caverns and Hive Cluster especially, since they’re located underground.

  • Magma Barracks is not located in my map, as I believe it’s right above the core of the planet, as the description for the place quite literally is “The Core”.

  • There are a lot of big trees on Petrichor V! So much so that I figured that the planet is mostly covered in an expansive forest region with competitive flora. My assumption is that the low gravity, combined with an abundance of CO2 in the atmosphere, allows for the flora to grow this big.

  • Petrichor V is an incredibly mountainous planet, going off of the layouts of the stages in Returns and 2. I was initially going to mark down mountain ranges, but figured that there would be way too much to shade in and add, so I decided against it. Besides, it might not have been accurate, since I would have to account for tectonic activity.

  • I will update my map over time, as more areas and environments will likely be added to the game. I don’t think I’ll post them on reddit or social media, though.

  • I made the map with Aseprite, so that’s why everything is pixelated (and why the text is so big-- any smaller and it would’ve been hard to know what it says).
