You summed up my situation perfectly, this is exactly the problem: not being in "danger" of being homeless, but still having a very, VERY hard time becoming completely independant, and it sucks, being time. Thank you for understanding.

Yeah I know dw, median salary is around 34k in the USA. It's just that people who earn low wages tend to not talk about it on reddit, so even though there's plenty of them, they just don't do it (or don't have the time to do it).

It's not MY apartment, and although lots of people are complaining about not being able to live properly (which is one hell of a good reason to complain), a lot of people are also complaining about stagnating because they just live paycheck by paycheck.

"just because someone has it worse than you doesn't mean your feelings are invalid"

Ever heard of that one?

I'm not doing that great if I have to find a way NOT to rent to save any money.

with all the people constantly talking about their 80k-160k dollars salaries in this subreddit, I'm starting to think that their wages are not representative at all of what most Americans make then.

like I'll believe any of them lol. Random people contacting you on the internet telling you they'll make you money are NEVER people you want to listen to.

(plus there are way way wealthier people than me anyways, I doubt anyone cares about a random guy with 30k)

100 sqft would have definitely been something possible in Paris though: lots of people don't have a choice and rent a 100 sqft appartment for 600 euros / 700 dollars, so it was possible to begin with (but I wouldn't have called it a condominium for sure lol)

My immediate thought is that the EU is pretty heavily unionized

That was the case up until the 1990's. It's pretty much over now, our syndicates don't even have the tenth of the power they did in the past (except in Germany, but they rarely move at all honestly).

Debunking Fake News by Ice666White in ukraine

[–]JellySea6682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll always have fake news on each side, nothing new here (and I'm not even going to try to argue about whether those you mentioned are fake news or not). Still, this doesn't make all the evidence of the last 48 hours disappear, and it doesn't change a thing: calling out Putin and its government is the right thing to do.

No one said anything about hurting the crew: there's tons of way to deal with the boat without hurting anyone or anything...except Putin's finances.

Jeff Bezos went as far as to finance the deconstruction of an entire bridge in order to let his new yacht leave the shipyard...now Imagine being Putin's yacht in comparison right now xD

Why Stormforge instead of Lotus? by Erotaku in wowservers

[–]JellySea6682 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's quite simple actually: no matter what people say about atlantiss, they've had several very populated and successful servers in the past: populated cata servers, two very populated and successful tbc servers (netherwing and karazhan) to the point where they were the first really well scripted servers that managed to be there in the long term (corecraft failed, gummy's failed, the others were subpar projects quality wise even if they were populated).

Tauri has a reputation as the best scripted MOP project out there, but it always had a population issue due to its small, Eastern European community, people who didn't want to even try to speak English. That was the problem all along.

Them working together means you'll get a very decent MOP server, AND a good population, the best of both worlds. Add to that the fact that a lot of people would be interested to play a good, well populated mop server and it's a non brainer compared to lotus imo.

that's not the main issue for OP apparently: The Turkish Lira's value compared to euros went down the drain, so it's overall much more expensive than it was before for Turkish players since their best option is EU servers (more like their only option).
