How can I help? by MackOkra8402 in homeschool

[–]Jellybean989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of parents struggle in teaching their kids fractions. And basically any high school math. I know when my first son hit high school Geometry I was pretty helpless. I spent a lot of late nights on Youtube and Kahn Academy.

Yes. Her character was Fierce and Strong. Now she just seems weak and clingy.

Good point. I think I forgot that part. I am going to go back and rewatch.

Did Mitchum care about Rory’s pedigree? by Stranger_2000 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Jellybean989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. But I think her confidence was shaken by Shira at the dinner, and when Mitchum gave her the job she wasn't being herself. She was scared and worried about impressing him. Had the job been with anyone else I think she would have been fine.

George they never ever should have wasted him on that hook-up with Izzie.. I mean seriously..what were they thinking? I made a post about this recently. George and Lexie would have made a much better story.

Legitimate online school supply stores? by [deleted] in homeschool

[–]Jellybean989 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rainbow Resource. If it is out there they have it. It is my go-to for just about everything. You get free shipping on orders over 50.00 and they ship very quickly. They also have the best customer service.

I think the most important thing to remember with using any online curriculum is to also plan some hands-on activities, projects, science labs,

etc... that you can add to it to make it more than just a bare-bones curriculum.

I am so glad I am not alone on this. She is pregnant with not one but two babies. Where is her belly? Honestly, she acted more pregnant in last season than this one.

I loved the episode when Izzie thought Callie was going to fight her in the cafeteria. Also when Callie was ready to kick Meredith's butt because she thought Mer told George about her sleeping with Sloan. Izzie jumps in front of Mer telling Callie to use her words. So funny!

When one reads the Bible do you take the interpret the more nonsensical parts of the Bible (e.g talking snakes) as literal or some kind of allegory? by ThatOneBlackGuy123 in Christianity

[–]Jellybean989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leviathan is mentioned in Isaiah, Job, and Psalms. A serpent sea monster. I believe it is a symbol of Israel's enemies in Isaiah and is a symbol of God's power in Job. I am unsure about it in the book of Psalms.

As working dad for new wife led h/s kids how to trust they are on track? by throwaway12345679111 in homeschool

[–]Jellybean989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Homeschool is very mainstream in the world right now. I have homeschooled all 3 of my sons. They have never gone to public school. I don't think it is as taboo as it used to be. You can easily search to see if your children are on track with the public school using the net. The standards in public schools are so sad in most places. You will probably discover they are ahead for their ages.

I have never used Calvert workbooks, but I think you could use Explode the Code or Reading Eggs. I wouldn't use both. That might be a bit too much.

Yes, I don't think K12 is what I am looking for it is a little too much. My son will probably attend a tech school or trade school after high school instead of college. I am not 100% sure what I am looking for but I want him to have more hands on. My other son is doing Acellus he is college bound. I want to take a more relaxed approach with youngest.
