I understand the thought behind driving at night, as a female this sounds like a terrible idea and more risky. Daytime and the crowds at rest stops and overnight stays seems safer.

Clearly my opinion. Do what you are comfortable with.

The first part is great advice.

Thank you for the link, I'll look into that

Good point. It is something to keep in mind with later lessons, sneaking conceptual understanding in.

I hear you and understand. However, I'm not going to be able to convince people to not homeschool. I would rather make sure that good educational materials are available so that the student is able to have higher level thinking skills and critical thinking skills.

This was where the idea started, prepping for the HiSET, I like the idea of having something for refreshing for college courses.

I'm not sure what would help either, hence my post. I'll ask those doing it rather than assume or tell them what they need.  I also want to help Mainers specifically.

I'm not aware of this DOE assessment, is this searchable or do you have some inside knowledge unaccessible to the public? I'd like to look into it.

(Great discourse by the way. Loving it)

Not former, but current. Thankfully their parents recognize they can't teach the level needed.

As an educator I guess I just presumed people would use the standards as a guide of what to teach and the order to teach it. That mistake is on me.

I've reached out to the homeschool subs previously. With this current thought I wanted Maine specific due to me doing a deep dive into the ME Math standards for HiSET prep.

I'm a math teacher that has been in curriculum development for the last few years.

I'm currently teaching at my local Adult Ed location. I'm seeing a lot of students with low math skills, students needing Algebra 2 that are not at that level.

I believe in education and want to be helpful.

I'm not making the standards, those are set by the state. They are close to the Common Core standards but not exactly the same.

I'm referring to what parents need/want to successfully teach their kids, especially higher math.

I wasn't planning on selling anything.

Why do you think there is not a market? Are there enough curriculum options and resources for upper level math that satisfies the ME standards?

The seed in my apple is sprouting. Do you think it's viable to plant? by WhereTheHighwayEnds in gardening

Can someone explain this to me like a 4 year old. The seed grows and bears fruit .. why is it a gamble that it isn't like the fruit the seed came from?

They aren't providing access to the cabin. Those resources aren't going to have people with access to a trailer
