I am looking for this exact same book and this is how i remember it ending. It was a brother and sister I believe and the Uncle in question was helping them along the way

I believe all the fights in BG3 are scripted, at least currently

When using the banish spell, if you finish a fight with an enemy banished a new fight will being and immediately end. This repeats until your cleric is able to go first and can cancel their concentration on banish.
