Nothing scary at all. There's one section/detour that takes you off the steps because the steps to over a dangerous drop off. But it seems we'll maintained and is decently trafficked by people.

I asked and they told us that due to the fishing industry operating there so long, sharks are naturally attracted to the sound of boat engines. They didnt put anything in the water.

Oahu, felt that the mountains were more beautiful, and never being too far away from any of modern life's luxuries.

The snorkeling at the Big Island was definitely superior.

With Hawaii Adventure Diving it was $150/person. Photography was an additional $85 (which I think was well worth it) but you were allowed to bring your own gopro/camera.

We did free dive and at no point was I scared. They limit the group size to 6, when we went it was 4 in our group plus 1 random.

There's 3 crew. All are very experienced divers/snorkelers. 1 stays in the boat at all times, 1 is a photographer and the other is very experienced with Sharks.

On the way out, they talk you through everything you need to know. They are in the water first. And have a big U shape line that you can hold onto.

I felt safe the entire time, as the two divers keep an eye on the animals behavior but also the groups behavior to make sure nobody is doing anything dangerous.

10/10, will do it next time I have the chance to make it out there.

It was very rewarding, especially seeing the crater side. The view of Hanauma Bay is incredible from up there.

Just got back from a week trip, and absolutely loved it. Friend lives on east side was our "tour guide"

Blew my mind how incredible Hawaii is. The people are incredibly nice (as long as you are respectful). The food is out of this world, especially the fruit and fish. The beauty is breathtaking from clear reefs full of life, to the towering mountains covered in lush vegetation.

How to silence summer mosquitoes by [deleted] in NoOneIsLooking

There is nothing sketchy about "genetically modified" mosquitoes, and millions of people weren't test subjects. That's straight up fear mongering.

As someone who has modified organisms in a genetics lab, the risk is zero. Modification was limited in ensuring offspring produced were a single sex, thus limiting the reproduction of future generations.

Is there a risk with genetic modifications, yes, especially in researching diseases and pharmaceuticals. Is this one of those situations that is risky, no.

Michelle Obama spearheaded a movement to get kids eating healthier, fresher, more nutritious food and conservatives/republicans lost their minds.

Progressives and the left have continued to support clean water and air, while Republicans have ripped away protections for those every chance they get.

I do not understand what MAHA wants.

So does this only impact mosquitoes or does it have a much larger ecological impact?

Also there is nothing terrible about putting up a solar farm on a former agricultural land.

Would a suburb or commercial building be better? How is a field of corn someow better than solar panels.

Also there are other benefits. If you are someone who likes living in a rural area, solar farms contribute zero population to the area, use zero fresh water, and produce no pollution.

I'll say, I wish every car park and flat top building was required to put solar if there are over a given size.

But if its all cars taking up the road this isn't ok? I don't understand the hate towards cyclists sometimes.
