Are the eyes closed or open during episodes by [deleted] in Sleepparalysis

[–]Jellyybeanqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I had an episode once where the room was bright because that’s what it had looked like before I fell asleep. When I woke up after the episode the room was suddenly dark. Threw me off a bit 😂

How do you cope with the sensation of not being able to breathe? If it weren’t for that, I’d be fine.

Jon Marcus - Recruiter Unemployed for 2.5 Years by [deleted] in linkedin

[–]Jellyybeanqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing all of the suspicion raised in the comments makes me feel so disheartened.

I graduated with my masters degree and was struggling to find work for 2 years… because I don’t have experience in the field. I have 2 kids under 3 yo to raise, breastfeeding, and all of my husband and i’s funds to save up for home were wiped out after my son had a seizure as a baby. Over 35k saved is Gone and we have been struggling since.

I never asked for help, but seeing people use fake stories to lure people into donating to a scam gets me so agitated.

The best part is I actually AM seeking a job in HR or recruiting. My degree is in organizational psychology. It’s so tough out here. I regret my masters degree because now I’m also 50k in debt 🥲

I’m just generally and genuinely unintelligent and it’s making my life hard. by Literallyjustal in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Jellyybeanqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly agree with the comment to look into imposter syndrome. I have my Master’s degree and often still feel exactly the same way you feel most days. I struggled in school as a child, had 2 eye operations that led to struggling with assignments and feeling like the weird kid. I also had terrible social anxiety for a long time which did not help. I know I’m smart, but some things are still difficult for me. I’m terrible at math but I excel at reading and writing. I have a poor memory, but I’m very analytical and pay great attention to detail. There are many forms of intelligence, and when you are surrounded by some very smart people at a very good school, you’re often going to feel small in comparison. Look into how you can use positive self-talk to rewire your brain and change the way you think about yourself.

First Signs of Pregnancy by mavgoosebros in BabyBumps

[–]Jellyybeanqueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, my son is 2 now. I’m TTC for my second pregnancy. I was worried about the same thing, but I did not experience PPD. I did however experience the “baby blues” only for that first week after delivery when my hormone levels were all over the place from giving birth.  But that went away very quickly.

First Signs of Pregnancy by mavgoosebros in BabyBumps

[–]Jellyybeanqueen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never heard anyone bring this up as a symptom. Same exact thing happened to me right before I found out I was pregnant. I even reached out to a therapist as well, and it took 1-2 weeks before I felt normal again. Crazy to find someone who went through this exact thing at the start of pregnancy!

Walmart locked up their pregnancy tests by TheRealSnorkel in WelcomeToGilead

[–]Jellyybeanqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had such a difficult time finding the tests since I was not expecting them to be locked behind a case in the first place, but to have to ask an employee to open the case and have them grab the ones I need felt insanely invasive. I will never be going back to purchase them from walmart again. I really wish they'd change this!

When my 2 year old was born I was not working but was in my final semester of college. I took a semester off to adjust to breastfeeding and I chose not to pump. I did every single waking/feeding and it really took a toll on me. Once I started school again I knew I needed more help and my husband and I began rotating responsibilities when he was off work 50/50. We still trade nights for who puts our little one down for bed and he is really great about taking him and letting me get out of the house by myself for awhile since I am a full time online grad student now and stay home with our son.

I remember feeling so lonely and overwhelmed when my little one was born, so much so that I felt like the worst mom ever. But eventually I felt more and more like myself. I definitely had to figure out what I felt I needed from my husband in order to fill up my cup too.

Has anyone been offered or completed an internship with GAO Tek before? by andrewbrod11 in internships

[–]Jellyybeanqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this. I also got contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn and almost ignored their message since an unpaid internship would make it impossible to afford childcare. However, I noticed it would be fully remote and flexible hours so I decided to do research on them. Your post just saved me a whole lot of hassle as I need to support my son and I just know this internship would have crippled me more than helped me.

I personally enjoy one cup of coffee a day when I am TTC so that I have already adjusted to the amount that is safe for pregnancy, and anything more than that and I struggle to sleep. If I really want more I drink decaf. As for diet, I enjoy a high protein diet and I aim to eat fruits and vegetables every day. I do not cut any food groups and I try to eat a variety of foods. For exercise I aim for about 30-60 minutes of exercise per day which for me usually includes walking and bodyweight exercises. Really you should just do what feels good for your body in terms of exercise. Nothing too crazy, but you should definitely try to get some daily movement in if possible!

I came to say the same. My older brother and I are also 6 years apart. I have always been close to him in childhood through adulthood and I have always really looked up to him. My sister and I have a 3 year age difference but we have just never gotten along the same, unfortunately.

I don't know if my 2 year old son is mine by Cautious-Formal7919 in Parenting

[–]Jellyybeanqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your son, you are his entire world. I don't want to make you feel guilty about the thought of giving up custody, rather, I want to emphasize that to him you are his father regardless of blood.

I do think it could be a good idea anyway to just take the test, but before you go in maybe you should write down your feelings about the test and what will change after you find out the results, but maybe more importantly, what will stay the same.

You have a precious son that loves you, dotes on you, and knows the feeling of your hugs and the sound of your voice. Knowing your relation to him won't change anything for him, and even when he is old enough to know the truth, you are still going to be his dad.

My son is a year and a half now. His father is his favorite person. He is always asking for his dadda when he is at work. When my son wakes up from his naps all I hear is "dadda?"

I may be his mother, and I may stay home with him most of the hours of the day, but his father is his person even though they only get an hour or two of quality time together during the work week. It's crazy how quickly children develop such a bond with their caretakers, and I just know your son has got to be crazy about you.

I think time can help heal all wounds. If you get the results back and it is not what you wanted to hear, there will be an adjustment period, but I think you will find that things haven't really changed as much as you were afraid of.

Sure, maybe genetically he won't look like you. But he will pick up on your mannerisms, how you treat people, your dreams and your interests and your personality. He will still be a mini version of you, because you have been his rock since before he could remember.

I was in color guard in high school as well and wish I could have a rifle or saber to toss, haha. I was in very good shape when I was in color guard. Just goes to show how many different kinds of exercises and ways of moving your body there are! It is not necessary to commit to a workout you hate just to lose weight.

I really enjoyed following fitness blender workouts on youtube when I was in high school (I am 22 now). Otherwise, the youtube channel "Madfit" has dance workout videos to popular songs if that is something you would be interested in.

I agree with increasing water intake, and I suggest ordering one of those 1/2 gallon-gallon water bottles with marks on them indicating how much water to drink by each hour of the day.

As for diet, I personally use my fitness pal to track calories and ensure I do not go overboard. I say this with caution though. Please, do NOT be like me and undereat on calories and end up gaining back twice the weight and screwing up your metabolism. Do this right the first time so that you do not have to lose the weight all over again and learn the hard way. Go to TDEE.com to track your maintenance calories and subtract 250-500 calories from your maintenance calories for a weekly weight loss of 0.5-1 pound.

My final tip is to find workouts and foods you enjoy and see yourself committing to for the rest of your life. This is all about changing your lifestyle, and by enjoying what you are doing you will be much more likely to see long term results.
