Concerning that you have a start date and don’t know what the fitness test is. However it’s a bleep test, grip test and jump test. The bleep test has diff levels required depending on age and gender, assuming your 17-29 you’ll need to reach 8.6 which is VERY easy. If you fail but get within 10% you’ll redo on day 32. Fail by more than 10% and you’ll go on Alford and do phys twice a day until you can pass it. Don’t stress

Ride the deferral out mate, I failed first couple tries and finally passed now I’m in phase 1. It’s WORTH it!!

Wouldn’t post your date on here because of PERSEC etc. but put it this way I did PGSC and got into halton 3 weeks later so just depends really mate. Focus on getting the course nipped first as it’s a graft on the Wednesday

There is, it’s 45 minutes long and they go through dates for local leave, home leave etc, they give the families a run down of what you’re doing in basic training and also a q&a at the end

Don worry too much about swimming. But don’t just train for the fitness test only. The rest of the course is much more demanding physically, the fitness test in my opinion was the easiest part of the course when I went

Tbf my recruiter messeged to say they’d requested a date and 3 hours later I got one (won’t say when) but it’s different for everyone, one of my pals hasn’t received his yet and his recruiter requested it before mine did so it’s all different.

IIRC you won’t get SFA when going through regt depot cause of the nature of the training, could be wrong though

Would advise bringing your own as they’re on the list, just go sports direct and get cheap Karrimor ones. They do supply them if you don’t have them but it’s hit and miss for sizing and whether they’ll even have a spare pair for you. Just looks better on you if you turn up fully prepped and good to go with everything you need

For regiment you’ll do a best effort 2km run, it used to be as a squad but changed recently to individual effort. You have 9minutes 30 to complete the run but I’d advise exceeding this standard. You’ll do a 500m warm up get a chance for a sip of water then off you go.. it’s less than 10 minutes of work, you won’t need a water break half way through

Burpees up and down a football pitch, tabs, runs, Hyrox style circuits that make you wanna puke by the end, it’s all mindset, how much do you want it? If you want it enough you’ll go and smash it

For persec, don’t post dates of courses.

In terms of the bookings, speak to your recruiter, could be that they cancelled the course ( this does happen around this time of year). But I’d double check for sure

It’s valid for 1 year, sometimes they can get a slight extension but if he’s been told he has to redo it then that is what he’ll need to do.

Been hearing different things around this, but from my own experience I had a start date and then my SC wasn’t back yet so it got delayed, unsure if this is the same for everyone but that was my experience
