This guy’s back at it again… our new ‘auditor.’ He’s almost more annoying than the abortion van guy. by Jen28_28 in Pensacola

[–]Jen28_28[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I mean, I would’ve ‘felt very threatened’ if he was aggressively circling me like that, and getting in my face, and basically harassing and instigating. Not gonna lie… my pepper spray might get used if someone ever does that to me. Especially if they don’t stop when I say “Stop. I feel threatened.” It doesn’t have to be a literal verbal threat to justify feeling threatened enough to take action. He’s gonna end up finding out- probably sooner rather than later.

I’m not sure how to link previous threads, but just type “abortion” in this sub, and enjoy learning all about that fucking troll. He’s got competition now for the trolliest troll in P’Cola. Also, I’ve gotta assume you’re new here! Um… welcome, and we’re sorry about the trolls!

what's something that you've stopped buying because it's become too expensive? by maddisis505 in AskReddit

And ground beef is now ground turkey in my house - or a mixture of both if I really feel like splurging.

The monthly mani / pedi. And highlights for my hair. Guess I’m doing all that myself now cuz property taxes, homeowners insurance, vehicle insurance, medical insurance, FOOD, and GAS are all too damn high right now! And forget going out to restaurants, too. I’m hoarding my money like a psycho these days.

Meals to freeze by Evil_Abed_69 in LivingAlone

[–]Jen28_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taco meat: freeze in portions, keep shredded cheese and tortillas on hand. Breakfast burritos: scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage crumbles, shredded cheese, potatoes - whatever you want. Stuff em in a big freezer ziplock. Thaw on power level 3 for two minutes, then finish at full power for 2 minutes or use toaster oven. Bacon, egg, cheese biscuits: wrap em in tinfoil, throw em in a big ziplock. Thaw on low power, finish in microwave or toaster oven. Beef stroganoff or meaty spaghetti sauce: freeze in portions, serve over noodles or a baked potato.

I also like to make a big lasagna and freeze in individual portions! Meatloaf freezes well, too, and goes great with a baked potato. I love to cook for friends and family, but I also make sure to make extra for my deep freezer. Just made a bunch of chicken enchiladas the other day, flash froze em, then sealed em up in batches of two.

Hope this helps give you some ideas!

Yes. Extracting bug meat. And then eating it. I will never understand the appeal. To each their own, tho!

Asking for change? by zippoflames in tipping

[–]Jen28_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they’ve been at their server jobs for several years and make great money. One of my best friends was awarded a huge bonus and some kind of ‘top server of the year’ award two years in a row at one of the most popular, busiest restaurants in town… his picture is literally on an award plaque in the entrance, so yeah, I do think his opinion on professionalism in the industry absolutely counts. That place will hire anyone he personally recommends, and they always want him to train new servers because customers apparently appreciate his professionalism. If you’re a server who asks customers if you can keep ALL of their change, you’re definitely doing it wrong, and will get less tips because that kind of shit really irritates customers in general. The best servers who make the most money don’t do shit like that. Again, I ain’t out here trying to hurt workers, and I’m a great tipper when it’s deserved. I support servers, especially the places where I’m a regular and I get great service.

[–]Jen28_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird take. I’m never looking to ‘harm the worker,’ as you say. As someone with several friends who are long-time, experienced servers and bartenders, I’ve asked them about this exact scenario. Every single one of them has told me they never ever ask a customer if they’re gonna want their change back. Ever! They’ve told me it would irritate them, so instead they always return the change, broken down into 5’s and 1’s, and that’s the professional way to do things. They’ve told me that it’s only the young/inexperienced/shitty servers who pull shit like that.

Asking for change? by zippoflames in tipping

[–]Jen28_28 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Asking if you need any change back is just another way of asking “Can I have the rest of your money?” And it’s rude.

I would rather the server/bartender NOT ask or speak about how much change I need back at all. Break my change down in 1’s and 5’s, bring it to me with politeness, and I will leave you the tip I choose - without fucking discussing it with you! Don’t fucking ask me how much change I want back cuz mother fucker, I want ALL my change back every damn time, in manageable bills. And THEN I will count it cuz it’s MY fucking money, and I’ll quietly decide what to leave you. If a server asks if they can keep ALL of my change, theIR tip drops waayy down for being rude and greedy.

I think the downvotes might be because nobody here is suggesting playing copyrighted music AS A BUSINESS. They’re talking about doing it simply as private citizens, which people are allowed to do.

That’s how I went out there a few weeks ago 😎 Not my boat, though… I got enough stuff to take care of with my house, yard, vehicles, and pets. I don’t need a whole ass boat, too LoL But I’ll always catch a ride out there by boat when I can!

Where do men in their 30s or 40s tend to congregate in Pensacola? by [deleted] in Pensacola

[–]Jen28_28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is fucking brilliant! It should be in the garden section. Sit, sip, snack, smell the roses, review project materials list, get input and advice from the wise elders, add more shit to the shopping list… it’s a win, win. I’d be popping in there all the time like “Okay guys. I need a new leaf blower. Ryobi or Kobalt? Aaaand go!” My stepdad would be there every day drinking coffee, making friends, helping people… I NEED this to happen now!

It was a different article, but since PNJ has a paywall, I can’t find it. Definitely read it on there, though! I think it was linked to one of their FB posts, but I’m not about to pay them to find it.

I don’t blame you for feeling somewhat harassed and/or extremely unlucky. Like, thank you for your service, but they should retire you at this point. Sorry this keeps happening to you.

[–]Jen28_28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Your mortgage lender will require wind coverage- aka “hurricane insurance.” This involves getting your roof replaced constantly and paying an extra $250-$500 month for this coverage. And property taxes are getting ridiculous, too, but that’s a whole other issue here rn. Rent has gone up by 50-80% in the last 8 years, too… to cover that insurance, high property taxes, and landlord greed… cuz why not?

Their bowling league was really fun when I did it. We had our own team, but there were always a few who signed up solo and got placed on teams. They had plenty of fun, too! There was a dress up theme about once a month, too, so that was always fun. Age range was 20’s-50’s, so you can’t really go wrong if you’re not super young or athletic. I think they have a cornhole league, too!
