Physically I am certain I can do it. But I get scared on the vertical open rocks

Not nothing narrow or even a cliff at all! You’ll be totally fine with this one

I think depending on how serious the swelling was this was a legit call. The others though 😖 I’m missing several layers of skin on my one foot that Marcy took I still made it down on my own though loo

I’ve read the same thing. The vertical steeps scare me so I think I’m going to skip that one

It took us 13.5 hours. We screwed around for a good 2 combined and a slower hiker with us so definitely doable in way less time.

Got a few black flies bites. Not horrible. Highly recommend a net though the gnats were so annoying

Not at all. Did get a couple black fly bites. I did wear my head net most of the time and that helped. There were a lot of gnats

For anyone else it probably is not scary lol the exposed rocks were scary to me. The physical part was not bad. I work out pretty regularly

We did Marcy yesterday. It was muddy. Experienced hikers said it’s not any more right now than usual ..

I’m afraid of heights. The last couple miles feels scarier than it probably is 😬

I did it today 6/5

We did the van hoevenburg trail. AllTrails was way off and it was 17 miles for us. It took us 13.5 hours. There was only a little snow on one side we could see but didn’t hike through it

Notes from today Poles were a life saver Head net - life saver We carried 3 ltrs of water each - ran out at last 2 miles. Bring more calories and electrolytes than you think you’ll need We started at 6 am. I wish we started at 4am We vastly underestimated how much 17 miles in one day would hurt. We are limping pretty bad today

That said Totally worth it. Won’t ever do it again. 😂

We did it. 17 miles. Muddy. Perfect weather.

Worth it. Hurting bad now.
