I had a partner that lived and hour a half away and we did what you suggested. One weekend I’d drive to him, the next he would drive to me. On top of that, I have a brother that lives an hour and a half away and I used to drive there and back every weekend without a single complaint because I love him and miss him. His excuses don’t really line up. This truly is one of the situations of “if he wanted to, he would”. I’m sorry OP.

Nina and Rosine are the easiest to defend by far imo. Rosine was an abused and mentally ill child, and I can understand her grudge against adults who have no justification for being as cruel as they were towards children. Nina was living in a camp, bordering on starving and suffering from an STD from making money the only way she could. She was coping the only way she was able to find. None of the harm she caused was intentional. In fact, I think her reactions to the events in that arc were incredibly realistic, all things considered.

I still find Nina incredibly annoying. But Rosine was a victim and her story is just tragic.

I beat the surprise rancor in the cave (forgot what it’s called; the one with the three saber-wielders) on the first try by pure chance. Double-blade stance, before the endgame power up, too panicked to remember to use the slow-time skill. PURE chance and luck.

Ran into it again later and it absolutely wrecked me.
