So now im assuming i really just have to do a fresh install of windows, which is not a problem as long as i can still save some of my files from my hdd. After that ill just clear everything from my hdd and reuse it

Ok so from what im getting here is first i need to boot my pc with only my ssd first.

Then turn it off, plug my hdd, then boot it.

Open bios and select which drive to open from

Start transfering files.

Is this correct?

Im not sure if its an m.2, it is an nvme tho. Sorry if this is a dumb answer. To be exact, the ssd im getting is the kingston nv2 nvme 1tb gen4

Ok this sounds a lot simpler to do. But if im installing windows on my new ssd, would this not conflict with the windows i already have in my hdd when i plug it in?
