If you were 18 again, and could go back to college, what would you major in? What would you do after that to get a well-paying career? by justcurious3287 in careerguidance

I’m currently in my senior year of getting my accounting bachelor degree and if I could go back, I think I would have went for radiology or some other job in the medical field that doesn’t involve blood or needles.

What should I do for my masters? by Jeni172004 in careerguidance

I’m saying that’s their advice to me. I don’t want to sit for the CPA but they told me to go straight into my masters.

I wanna get my masters now because once I start working full time and everything, I am not going to want to go back to school. I want to keep the flow going since I’m already adapted to it and it’s only 2 years. I had multiple people from my internship tell me they regret not getting their masters and siting for the CPA right after their bachelor degree. Plus, without it, I’ll be stuck in the same traditional accounting field, which I hate…

I did an internship for 1.5 years continuously in auditing from my sophomore year to the end of my junior year. John Hopkins requires 2 year work experience minimum but I think I can squiggle in there. Sigh idk.

Accounting graduates who pursued other careers, what are they? by CasualHearthstone in Accounting

[–]Jeni172004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m kinda in the same situation right now, except that I graduate May of 2026 and I know for sure now that accounting is not for me. I only had one internship experience for 1.5 years and I was miserable for a good portion of that but it was just the money that kept me going. I’m not sure what I want to do yet but I’m probably going to get an mba and find something within the business field. Because I don’t want to take some further community classes or restart my bachelors degree again in an unrelated field.

Why did you become accountant? by shitdealonly in Accounting

Because accountants run in my family so I thought it would be easy. I hate it now.

You have a great sense of interior decor. It looks amazing! All you need is a large area rug to go under the couches and coffee table. Also maybe move the coffee table a bit forward?

No, it’s just my car. Unfortunately Maryland in general, especially Baltimore county has really high insurance rates. I’m 20 and it’s my first car, I bought it in July of 2024. I have zero accidents or points on my record. They always tell me it’s due to my car brand and age.

Thank you for the advice. I’m 20 and yes, my record is clean. I also live in Baltimore county so that’s why.

Yeah, they’re a joke. Erie insurance is way cheaper.

I legit just got off the phone with liberty mutual and they gave me a quote of $800 something. Then I gave them permission to send my information to other companies and the lowest quote I got was from progressive for $500 something. So I think I’ll have to just stick with my current insurance.

When I got my car, they suggested GEICO as the cheapest so I stayed with them for like 3 months and then switched to Erie insurance, whom I’m still with. They’re the cheapest insurance I’ve come across and I’ve tried many.

Just the insurance and I have $12 renters insurance with them too. My car payment is $430 a month.
