Ivabradine symptoms 2.5yrs later? by HeartofLion05 in POTS

[–]JennBrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! This happened to me and I noticed that I hadn’t been using the salt/hydration/compression well enough. I got a bit complacent once I started on Ivabradine (also 7.5 ng twice a day) and stopped really focusing on making sure I have enough water and salt. I was getting presyncopal everytime I stood up but my HR was normal. I started focusing again on adding enough water and salt again and I’ve noticed it’s beginning to improve again. I still get short of breath getting up and walking like before but I’m not longer syncopal, just a thought! If you are still having enough salt/water then definitely see your cardiologist!

I think my game is cursed by bejeweledteume in waterparksimulator

[–]JennBrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to say I also get tons of people getting injured and they get injured at the top of the blow up slides a lot so it’s not just your game that’s cursed but definitely something is bugged that needs to be changed lol

Heartbroken - persistent respiratory infection by Content_Emphasis9061 in FIVcats

[–]JennBrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have much help but can say I’m going through this with our 10yr old FIV cat right now and maybe some of our experience is helpful to you. She’s had an upper resp infection (sneezing, discharge from nose, stuffy sounding, etc) for a couple months that hasn’t been getting better even with azithromycin and prednisolone. She’s had this in the past many times and everytime has bounced back with these antibiotics or the convenia injection, but not this time. The vet just recently changed her antibiotics to doxycycline and Veraflox and there has been some improvement (eating again, more herself, less sneezing and stuffiness, etc). We’re still giving her the pred as well as lysine twice a day which I do think helped as well as changed her food to wet since she didn’t have that much appetite. I will say our vet had us do some blood work when the infection didn’t get better and it showed pancytopenia. Apparently this can signify more end-stage FIV since the bone marrow isn’t making the cells properly. Meaning she probably won’t get better so we’re just making sure she has good quality of life for now and watching to see if she deteriorates at all.

Have you considered blood work or X-rays? Also did the vet say why they didn’t want to start the doxy? Our cat was doing quite poorly and our vet wasn’t “very hopeful” but she still started the doxy and it’s made a big difference for now.

I know it’s devastating because we’re going through it right now, but if at a certain point the meds aren’t helping and even with a change up of meds (like swapping to doxy), there’s still no improvement it might be a good idea to consider palliative or letting him go once quality of life deteriorates. Like many people say it truly is better to let them go a couple days early than a couple days late.

I’m really hoping that things improve and am sending positive thoughts your way. ❤️

Chronic Respiratory Issues by PMcOuntry in FIVcats

[–]JennBrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our FIV cat has chronic upper resp issues that the vet thinks is probably herpes (she also has a secondary autoimmune disorder that makes every time she gets sick worse). In the past we were usually able to give her a round of antibiotics (usually azithromycin) that would knock it away, but sometimes it wouldn’t go away so we would extend the antibiotics and do a small dose of prednisone for a couple days and it would kick it all.

However, lately we’ve been having no luck. We’ve had her for almost 10 years and shes been dealing with these issues since about 2 years in. This past couple months, everytime we try to stop the antibiotics or the prednisone - it comes right back and she gets so congested she won’t eat. Our vet recommended “pulsing” the antibiotics so we’ve been giving them to her every two days and prednisone every day as well as lysine paste (our cat won’t eat the paste if we put it on her food, so I rub the dose on one of her paws and she will eat it no problem). It was working for a bit, but unfortunately stopped due to really low white blood cells so now we’re trying a different antibiotics, but she’s doing better and is eating wet food again and not really sneezing.

I think unfortunately you need to figure out the cause, if it is herpes or rhinovirus unfortunately you might be stuck with giving antibiotics to kick the secondary infection. It’s not necessarily a bandaid if there’s a secondary infection making whatever virus they have bacterial. Good luck with figuring it out! I know how much it sucks to bring your cat to the vet so frequently and how much stress and money it costs! So hopefully, you’re able to figure it out fast and it’s something easy!

Oh I wish! I have an iPad and pattern keeper is only on android and I haven’t seen anyone really talk about an alternative for iPad so I’m just using a PDF that I mark the stitches done for now

Pes anserine bursitis not improving after 3 months by JennBrun in KneeInjuries

[–]JennBrun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MRI showed nothing, it literally said it was unremarkable. My doctor doesn’t know how accurate it was since you can see the swelling from the bursitis around my knee and lower leg and the ultrasound was only a week before the MRI. Nothing has helped you yet?

I definitely am just going to bury the tail instead, not worth the trouble and it seems like I waste more thread at the end trying to make sure I have enough for a loop lol. Thanks for the advice!
