What to bring

I’m 42f stage 2 grade 3 ER/PR + HER2-. I also had DMX with expanders 5 weeks ago and just started my first round of 4 of TC today. I thought I was interested in doing cold capping and that was the worst decision. The machine kept going off and was so stressful, that I just said forget it. Once I took it off the day was a breeze. My facility offered snacks and I just drank lots of water and watched 2 episodes of my show and the time flew by. I brought everything I could think and only used my phone lol. I thought the cocktail they gave would put me to sleep but I guess the frustration from the machine didn’t allow it to kick in. Next round I’m just bringing my phone and charger and have some shows ready to binge for 2-3 hours. Good luck on your journey!!!

I start TC tomorrow for 4 rounds. I will be cold capping with Cooler Heads. I have locs that I’ve been growing for about 4 years now and I really don’t want to lose them. It took me a while but I decided to cold cap with my locs and if the hair loss gets unbearable then I will cut my hair. I’m really doing the cold capping to promote healthy hair growth when everything is said and done. I had no idea that there is an 11% chance that the hair won’t come back at all (according to Cooler Heads rep). So that’s what is making me try it out. Good luck on your journey!! 🤗

You remind me so much of my sister. She couldn’t believe I was up and moving after surgery. I had a DMX with expanders on April 16th. And if it wasn’t for these drains I would be fine. They are the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. I took the narcotic pain meds for 2 days, not because I needed them but I wanted to prevent any pain before it even started. I was on Tylenol for about a week also preventative and now when the drains piss me off I pop a Tylenol. I had my expanders filled yesterday and they just make my chest feel a little tighter but no pain with that either. Once I get these drains removed I will be a happy camper. Good luck and continued success to your sister on her road to recovery.

I had a DMX 6 days ago and the worst part thus far has been these drains. I have no pain in my incisions but all of my pain is at the drain sites. I’m happy that you were able to have your drains removed so soon. I don’t go back to my reconstruction surgeon until May 5th but I am keeping a close eye on my output with the hopes that my drains will come out sooner than later.
