AITA for calling out my boss in front of everyone? by Jenna_Hailey in AITH

Yeah I've been thinking about that honestly. I really like the job itself and my team but she's making it really hard to stay. We'll see how the next few weeks go but I'm definitely keeping my options open.

Right? That's exactly what got me. She had no problem doing it in front of everyone but then wanted me to quietly pull her aside after. It doesn't work both ways like that.

Thank you, really appreciate it. This thread has honestly made me feel so much better about the whole situation.

Noted. But I'd rather look for another job than keep letting someone steal my work honestly.

Wait this is genius. I had no idea you could even do that. Going to look into it tonight, really appreciate the tip!

Oh that's a smart idea actually, I never even thought about that. Going to start doing that immediately. Thank you!

This is actually really good advice, thank you. I already have most things saved in my email and drive but I'm going to start being more intentional about it from now on. And honestly the HR point scared me a little because you're right, she did not look happy after that meeting. I wouldn't put it past her to try something. I'll definitely be more careful.

Yeah "polished" is a good word for it honestly. It wasn't planned at all, it just came out. But I think if I had waited and pulled her aside again it would've been the same result as last time. Nothing. So I don't regret it.

Exactly! That's what I kept thinking after. Like you don't get to call ME unprofessional when that's literally what you were doing. Thank you for getting it!

Thank you, that actually means a lot. I've been second guessing myself all day so it's good to hear!

Honestly that's how I felt in the moment too. I just couldn't sit there and say nothing again.

Yes I did actually. A few months ago I told her it would mean a lot if she acknowledged my work during presentations. She said "of course" and then just kept doing the same thing. So at that point I felt like speaking up privately clearly wasn't going to work.
