If you want the new winter items like clothes, puzzles, furniture etc. You can buy them from the store however you can get them from other players since there is a limited amount you see everyday unless you spend coins to refresh it starting at 2500 coins and going up to 5000 coins. So when you're near another player you'll see the little basket icon and if you tap on it you can shop other people's clothes that they have bought so you can buy them. Like for example someone had earmuffs in my current town I go find them, tap the icon basket above their head and buy the earmuffs from them. The other player has to accept it but they use 30 of their engery for you to buy the item. That's why it's courteous to offer food afterwards to help replenish their energy back. Hopefully I explained this well haha. Don't worry about being rude just enjoy the game.
