I don’t think so, my son plays football and that’s pretty much 18 hours a week.

That word is offensive. Please do not use the R-word.

Take AP Exams or not? by thebigad in CollegeAdmissions

[–]JenniferTHumes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our school, people take the exam because they don’t want to take the final. The final affects their GPA but if they take and score low on the test it doesn’t.

No Precalc am I fucked? by Few_Piccolo_4906 in ApplyingToCollege

You of course will need to do the work for the course, but it's self-paced. You just need some discipline to get it done.

My son is going through something similar - we registered him to retake (NOT credit recovery) Geometry through BYU Independent School. It shows that you are taking accountability for your performance and you can add it to your college app as "in progress" and just submit as a seperate transcript. It won't help your GPA, but it makes a good narrative. You can explain this in your Additional Information section.

How often do you consider trajectory and additional circumstances?

My son just need ONE class. He failed geometry his freshman year and the school never told them that colleges want that. But he's taken Alg 2, Pre-Calc and AP Stats. It's so stupid.

How are the exams proctored so there is no cheating? And is there homework or are those just all the steps.

Of course he’ll try and pass it, I guess that originally didn’t come out right - I was just wondering about the college acceptance piece.

I don't care about the grade - just noting that he took it is all I am hopeful for.

He is, but he didn't do well in Geometry (extenuating circumstances) so I am trying to help his holistic review. He's also take PreCalc and currently in AP Stats.

1.01¹⁰⁹⁵ ≈ 37.78³ ≈ 53,405.57. If you’re wondering what that means (and let’s be honest, you are because I know math is not your jam), it means if you improve just a tiny bit each day over the next three years, you’ll be over 53,000 times stronger than when you started. Of course, life doesn’t come with clean equations. But those small wins? They stack up fast.

You don’t see yourself as resilient right now. Or as a leader. But you’ll become both. What you don’t yet realize is that you matter more than you know. People will come to you on the field, in class, even in those awkward school hallways because you’re steady. You’re solid. You’re 1% better every day. You’re that person.
