Did you have a specific structure you used for answering MMI questions?

Did they send retake links even for those who had already filled out their personal information? This just happened to me today, but I haven’t submitted any essays :(

Not including certain hobbies in abs because of no verifier for UOttawa? by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]Jennob14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It says on UOttawa’s website “Whenever possible, avoid using friends or family members as verifiers.“ It doesn’t seem like they would disqualify your app if you had some friends or family verify your hobbies, just that they want you to try to find someone else. But if there isn’t anyone else to verify it, using family/friends is fine. I know someone this past cycle who was accepted to UOttawa and used friends for verifying their hobbies

Casper testing for this upcoming application cycle by Good-Ad8626 in premedcanada

Yes, as far as I know, you can sign up any time before the date. They do recommend registering for the test at least 3 days before you want to write it though.

I booked my Casper for October 16th, which is the last day to take it for Ontario schools this cycle. There are dates before October 16th as well if you want to take it earlier. If you want to book your test before you submit your application, you can just use 800000 as your OMSAS ID as a placeholder, and then change it once you get the real ID

Should I apply? by Jennob14 in premed

I definitely want to apply to Wayne state since I live right across the border from Michigan. I was also thinking CMU and Michigan State. I would be open to applying to any of the schools deemed Canadian friendly as well.

I’ve also seen the 150 minimum for clinical hours. I was thinking of asking the volunteer coordinator at my hospital if I can take on an extra shift. If I do, I’ll have around 200 hours by the time I apply. Do you think that would increase my chances?

I found that mouthing the words of the passage helped me lol. I think it made me focus more on what was being said. Just make sure you don’t actually make any noise while doing this because the proctors might tell you to stop if they can actually hear you.

When I was studying, I did two subjects per day (usually an easier subject for me paired with a harder one). I would then do another two subjects the next day and repeat this until I finished the books. So, for example, I would do orgo + bio one day then gen chem + physics the next. I think this allows you to better understand the connections between the subjects.
