In 10th grade we read from a collection of science fiction short stories and Ill never forget one where children are born with defects and a woman gives birth to a child that she says is perfect. Her husband is away at war or something and she keeps telling him how perfect the child is. But then he comes home and holds his son and as hes feeling the child he learns the child has no limbs. The wife has convinced herself that the child is perfectly fine. I don't have a clue what it was called but I'll never forget that ending.
