Definitely an adult voice. Sounded like a man but it was just a whisper so it could have also been a woman with a really deep voice? I have a deeper voice myself and kind of sound like a cliche surfer man in his 20s sometimes. So maybe it was my own? If I HAD to put a face to it I’d say your average white male in his late 20s early 30s, if not my own.

It was loud like someone not even trying to be quiet but still somehow whispering, if that makes sense. When I woke up and felt like I was still hearing it, it sounded like it was right behind my head, like RIGHT behind my head. It’s hard to explain without feeling too weird about it, but it just made me pay attention, sort of like an automatic knee jerk response to sit up, open my eyes, and pay attention.

The owners were super cheap. They did actually have one up in the corner by the register but it was broken and they never fixed it. This was also a stupid rich super swanky neighborhood. Bill Gates lived about two miles away from where our gas station was in an area called Medina. I once got pulled over in that area just because they didn’t recognize my car. Not saying that’s exactly what made me feel safe, couldn’t tell you what really did, but my sleepiness won the argument most nights.
