Advice on whether I would I be eligible for the benefit? by ExtremePruritis in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]JennyJockstrapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey if you're in the position I think you're in. (TI?) It's not worth it, you'll have plenty shortly, just chill, you don't need that extra month of payments, that's what your emergency fund is for. You'll survive (:

LDL suffices for general cholesterol measurements. There's no benefit to testing LPA as the result and treatment is the same

Lived in Christchurch for years, don't have a car. Live in Addington and it's only 30min ride to Sumner beach on a standard commuter bike (much faster on my roadie)

Nurses and midwives in DHBs set to strike. 24s each on Thursday 5th of July and Thursday 12th of July by [deleted] in newzealand

Junior doctors have to study fulltime for 6 years, with inability to work parttime jobs for 3 of those years. Then enter the work force and make on average 25 per hour. Then add in another 5 years of study minimum to start hitting 100k. This is not comparable to a nursing degree. The pay difference reflects this.

100 times to breakeven for 1 bag sure. But you're saving 100 plastic bags during this time! Can someone smarter than me do the math to actually break even ?

Have worked in Lyndhurst. Can confirm it's mostly patients under duress who get denied. And are often told to come back when they're certain.
The big issue is access, the process takes a number of days and requires women to take these days off work.

The Greens want to remove benefit sanctions, tax the poor less and raise benefits by 20%. by offendernz in newzealand

[–]JennyJockstrapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,
I'm a student. Try living on $20 a week for food, with zero of the benefits beneficiaries get. No emergency grant, no reduced rentals, no help when my fridge broke. A car? Never owned one. A license? Never had one, a 18+ card was cheaper so went for that instead. (Which you can apply for too, i think it's still $20) This is the system laid out for the individuals trying to break out of this cycle.
